Likes
- The college garden and ground is beautiful and spacious even though they don't let you in in the park
- The college has parking space for vehicles
- No bad crowd, like i haven't seen any fight in the campus.
Dislikes
- Some teachers are very bad in political science, one always praise bjp, some don't even know how to teach and one was very arrogant
- Three Tin sheds classes inside the campus, boys common room is very ill maintained, in the girls common room, guys are not allowed but girls seat in the boys common and also it a tin shed and only girls common room has ac and water cooler.
- The nescafe point, literally shitty place only lemon ice tea is good
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because of UPSC preparations and the faculty-to-student ratio is ok because most of the time not even half of the students come and when they come the class feels crowded. The faculty has phd but their teaching is okay some are good teachers like Mr. Sumit, Mr. Bhavnath Jha, and Mr. Indermohan Jha and in ge maths, almost everyone teaches good. Because of Corona we didn't get a proper semester and the exam came after 3-4 months. We didn't even get a proper 6 month semester.
Placement Experience
As a political science students, we don't get into the placement area but students do get placement in the college. I don't know which companies come to the college but students from the commerce department get internships in some companies. My plan is to prepare for upsc exam so the placement thing is not really my concern.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is very low because 10000-11000 per year is very less if we compare it to private universities. Students do get fee concessions, financial assistance even from professors, and scholarships to. Don't know about any on-campus jobs.
Campus Life
The annual fest of arsd college is 'Tide' which is just average as in 2023 they didn't get any famous singer or celebrity for the event as all the money was used for naac inspection. Still, the fest was ok. The library provides many books but some are old editions and newspapers are also available but only one of some newspaper companies like you will only find one The Hindu newspaper and someone will already have it. The college also provides sports facilities as it has a huge ground and a badminton court. Ncc activities and hip-hop dancers are common sights.
Admission
Admission was smooth. But this won't matter as at our time we got admission by merit system. We didn't have to give an entrance test. The only thing was that because of the corona, we had to take online classes.
