Dislikes
- No hostels : ARSD does not have a hostel of its own which holds it back from being a top 10 college iny opinion.
- Canteen : ARSD Canteen is not the best in terms of the quality of food. There have been a few instances when people have found insects in their food.
- Sometimes, the classes get cancelled and we are informed after reaching the college which results in the wastage of time
Course Curriculum Overview
Although, people say that B.Com doesn't have a great scope to it, I feel like there are many life lessons that we are taught during our college years. Since the introduction of NEP 2020, there has been a rather great emphasis on practical learning. In our college, we are asked for presentations and group projects to promote learning and communication. The presence of SEC and VAC also helps you develop your soft skills, groom your personality and live a happy and healthy life. Exams are help at the end of every semester. There are a few guides and PYQs with the help of which a student can prepare for these exams. They are relatively easy in my opinion and do not require extreme efforts. Overall, it's a great experience and a great opportunity to learn so many things.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fee per annum is Rs. 180 and the the other fees is Rs. 14,830 per year. There are various scholarships and financial aid services for students. For example, the Vijender Sharmila Chopra Book-Grant scheme for blind students of 1st year. There are many others like this listed on the website of Delhi University.
Campus Life
There are many societies in the college for the development of students. There is also a huge library with a great variety of books from all genres. There are curriculum books which many students get issued from the library a few days before the exam for their preparations. However, the latest edition is not always available. There are no ACs in the classrooms which is not good especially in the month of June when we have to write our exams. There is an e-library where a student can use computers to help them with their projects and assignments. There is a badminton court, a basketball court and cricket nets for the students. Overall, the campus life is good but could've been better if we had a hostel.
Admission
My CUET Score was 724/800 and I was allotted Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College in the first round. The admission process did not take longer than 15 minutes. I had to take my 10th, 12th Marksheet along with my Aadhar card, Transfer Certificate and CUET Application to the Admin office and that was it. There are many benefits if one belongs the to the reservation category such as more scholarships and schemes, lower cut-off for admission etc. All the information related to application form, fees and dates are provided on your CUET Portal.
Faculty
The faculty for commerce department is highly knowledgeable and supportive. They are interactive and give practical learning lessons to the students and also help in clearing our doubts. One can interact with the teachers whenever they are free and present in the college. Our professors also help us with our assignments and exam preparations.
Other Applied Colleges
Zakir Husain Delhi College | Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com]
I felt like the placement opportunities and faculty in ARSD are much better than that of Zakir Hussain College. Moreover, the infrastructure and the campus life of ARSD is truly amazing.
