Best College I have ever seen

Everything is good. Yes! everything. I know you will not believe me. Thats why i always say just go there once. I really cannot explain you how you feel about IIT Guwahati. Once you will go there you will understand and feel the same like i do.

I gave JAM and through this exam I got into IIT Guwahati. IIT Guwahati is very well known for its surreal campus and excellent performance in studies as well as other activities. I am passionate about mathematics and IIT Guwahati fulfilled my needs.

The course I was in, is Mathematics and Computing. IIT Guwahati has awesome faculty members who help student throughout the course. Many PhD students are there who are equally helpful. Professors always encourage students to fulfill every little interest about the subject. Professors are really really good in their research areas and they give very good projects to students for further research.

In my course, I really do not know about internship. But if you want to do projects in some other big institutes, you will get very good recommendations from the faculties and they are very helpful about that. Even you can do some projects under some faculty member of your choice in there.

The field I am in, that is mathematics and computing, some companies are there where students get placed like Cognizant, Wipro, Crizil etc. But if you are really good at mathematics, I would suggest you to do PhD or further research as Govt is giving handsome scholarships.

The two biggest events are technical fest and cultural fest. Technical fest is Techniche and the cultural fest is Alcheringa. Alcheringa is the north-east India's biggest cultural festival and a great many colleges participates in that. Apart from these two, there many more like Manthan, Saraswati Puja, Freshers Welcome, Adavaya etc.

In my course the fee structure is quite feasible. It is not very much. Around 90000 in two years. But they offer a scholarship of 14000 for each year for the students whose family income is less. So you can cut 28000 from 90000. Also for SC- ST candidates they have book allowances and laptops.

I told about this before that IIT Guwahati has many scholarships like MCM , SC-ST scholarships and many more. Their annual fee is also not very high. They offer 28000 in two years for general students in MCM and for SC-ST they offer 50000. Also they have book allowances and laptops for SC-ST students only.

Labs are awesome. I think the campus life is the best life i have ever experienced. The atmosphere is surreal and the campus is so beautiful that sometimes i feel like it is god's own campus. You can really check out videos. Many many competitions happen and many clubs like drama, dance, robotics, photography, football, yoga etc are there. you can just chill when you are bored of your studies by going to the bank of bramhaputra.

Hostels are very big and good. Yeah of course the mess foods are not very tasty as you expect. But they are also good. But one thing i have to tell you that mess authorities maintain really really good cleanliness while cooking and with the plates. They maintain very good hygiene which is really appreciable.

Very much helpful. I personally think that apart from teachers, a student gets a wonderful atmosphere in IIT Guwahati because of the campus, the people, the seniors, and the aura of the IIT guwahati. There you will not feel any barrier like seniors juniors, teacher students. You can play with them, chill with them. They are very out spoken.

Exams occur frequently. But they will be for your own good. They take quiz (this is actually exam) frequently and at the last all the marks will be added to the final exam marks. Marking system is relative marking. So i suggest that do not think it like a hectic day as at the end the semester, you will realize that because of those exams you really have gained something on the subject.

First I cleared JAM for M.Sc Mathematics and after that I gave my choices of IITs according to my rank. In the very first counciling I got IIT Guwahati. The admission process is very easy and transparent. Also if someone faces any problem, they help the candidate in a very good way.

In one word, awesome. I am honored that I get in touch with the faculty members. Each and everyone of them is simply awesome. I am really saying this and i mean it that whatever course you choose in mathematics, i can assure you that the faculties are so well equipped with knowledge in every aspect that you will get more than sufficient knowledge.
