The teachers are very punctual and helpful
The surrounding is huge and almost all the daily essential are available inside the campus
Nice library and AC installed in all the classroom

Infrastructure can be improve and repainting is required
More extra curricular activities can be included
Quality of water is not good, iron content is high

I choose this course as nutrition is one that plays a very important role in our daily life. Moreover i have a keen interest in everything that involves food.And to explore more about food i take this subject.

Class Size: 6Course Fees: INR 17800 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

I will be paying an amount of Rupees 17600 per semester and so for a year it comes out Rupees 34,200 ( This includes all the fees inclusive of hostel fees). The amount of fees paid is same for M.Sc's but for M.tech and for self financed category which is Rs 82,000 per semester The students mostly apply for NSP scholarship

Campus Life

The festival are held mostly during October and November. Almost all the required books and journal are available in the library. The classrooms are all smart classrooms. There are various clubs and social groups run by students.

Hostel Facilities

Inside the hostel room mostly its 2 bedded. There are 2 cupboard,3 tables, 2 chair,1 fan.The hostel are quite affordable it is 5000 per semester. .the mess are run by the students rotation wise and fees depend upon the season and availability of food.

Admission

I choose this college as this college is nearest to my home and the fees are also quite affordable.I got in this college through icar pg exam.I got the seat in unreserved category. The eligibility to be admitted in this college will be completion of 4 years Bachelor degree in the required field.

Faculty

The teachers are nice and approachable . There are 2 exams in 1 semester ,mid term 30 marks and end term 60 marks.The remaining 10 Marks will be frim class test.The exams consist of easy, moderate and difficult level.

Placement Experience:

In Msc courses, there are no placements offered by the institute. However the institute of technology offers placements for btech and mtech students. The highest package this year was 12LPA and the average package was 8 LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The geography department at the university is good. The department is small, with a maximum of 30-40 students in each class. This helps in good interaction with the teachers and avoids congestion. The teachers are good and very cooperative. They help the students in every way, be it academic or extra-curricular activities. The department takes part in university activities actively. The teachers also help and are actively involved. All the teachers in the department have PhDs. Teachers use theory as well as practical knowledge to teach the subject. Computers, smart phones, and journals are also used by them. They clear every doubt of the students and also, if necessary, they teach topics beyond the syllabus for future help. The exams are conducted on time. And the question pattern is challenging for the students.

Remarks:

NIT SILCHAR is one of the technological institutes of national importance established in the year 1950, one of the core learning centre for sciences and technology in north east, gaining spectacular growth in last few years it has secured 10th place out of 31 colleges, having the Asia's largest digital library, your life circle of 7 lives would not be enough to compete all the books, the lush green environment and its location on southern side of kashi hills makes it a magnetic centre for knowledge thus lives. The patron of education and the spice of knowledgeable people from across the country under a 695 acres of land compressing of more than 5000 students is all I can describe my college, words fall short apart. Negative remark as such is its isolation from ROI it takes almost 1½ day to reach West Bengal from Silchar, road connectivity is less and even the climate is unpredictable here the funniest part is I have experienced all 3 seasons in a single day, morning it was raining at afternoon it was sunny and night I was chilled out
