Course Curriculum Overview

The course is rigorous and there is a lot to learn. The faculty is knowledgeable and helpful. Being a student at IIM Raipur with work experience I was able to relate the practicality of the things that the PGP course taught us. Even I have applied most of the learnings from a course in my internship project as well.

Class Size: 330Course Fees: INR 1700000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Currently, I am interning with a consulting firm as a management consultant. Here I am getting to know about various aspects of different industries and I am currently working on the organization's internal capability enhancement.

Placement Experience

Placements are improving in our college year by year. Now our current average and mean package stands at 22 LPA and it is amazing compared to other 2nd generation IIMs. The college gives full support to its students regarding placements. No one is left behind.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is less (16 Lacs) as compared to other 2nd generation IIMs which are charging more than 20 Lacs. So IIM Raipur offers the best ROI. And there are various scholarship opportunities for category students.

Campus Life

Life at IIM Raipur is very happening. First of all, the campus is very beautiful. I love to see the sunrise from my hostel room window. The campus is always buzzing with activities that are being conducted by clubs and committees. The infrastructure of this college is magnificent and it gives a luxurious feel. Our college also conducts an annual management fest Karmaanta which is a different experience. There is a huge library for students.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facilities is really good. We are getting single accommodation hostel rooms with attached washrooms. Hostel rooms are well-maintained and furnished. It even supports radiant cooling during summers.

Hostel Fee: INR 21000 per year

Admission

I had given CAT and based on the cut-off I got a call for an interview process under the CAP round. After the interview process, they released the admission letter based on the cut-off. After that admission and onboarding process was smooth. The administration and the student body were helpful to solve all our queries.

Interview Experience

Yes after our CAT results, we went through the CAP interview process. It was a virtual interview in which the interviewer asked questions related to current affairs and most of the things revolved around interests and work experience.

SIMER: A first batch student's Journey and how it became a Launchpad for my career

Placement Experience:

We were appearing for the placement process from the 4th Semester, however, our batch was being prepared for the placement process from day 1. The first placement process that I appeared for was for Shriram Transport Finance in feb 2008. A few common recruiters who came for our batch were HDFC Bank, Shriram Transport Finance, CIPLA, Naukri.com, Indiabulls Vandana Ispat etc. One of the offers that I had from HDFC bank and the CTC offered b HDFC bank was 300000. Our complete batch was having a offer , some of us had 1 offer and some of us had many , I had offer from India Bulls, Shriram transport Finance and HDFC Bank I joined HDFC bank after getting my degree.

SIMER- a journey to remember

Placement Experience:

In first year for internship program college only provide us opportunities. I got selected in three different companies for summer internship program which was paid. Then for final placement we experienced best support from placement cell. There was 25 companies for 60 students. I got selected for 5 different companies. I joined the best one.

Remarks:

Eligibility of course is depend on your CAT percentile and your past experience and academics. You can find application form in IIM website and application fees is 1200 and date would be in August to October. Reservation is based on caste and physical condition. IIM Raipur in nutshell

Admission through CAT MBA Entrance Exam followed by GDPI. There are different cut-off lists declared on the basis of category reservation. For example, the highest cut off like in my case will always be for general engineer males followed by general engineer females and so on.
