Course Curriculum Overview

3

So in our batch 4 options were available that is Finance, Marketing, Human resourse and IT, some students wanted to open operation also but due to lack of students in that domain it didn't opened. I opted for Finance and Marketing because I had interest in Marketing and for finance I choose because it was the best option I feel was present among all others. IT was new and had very out dated course which is not at all relevant in today's market. HR was fine but the college placement in that field was very poor. So talking about Marketing both the course and facilities were good, the course was relevant and had many options according to the students interest. The marketing course was latest and very relevant, whatever I had learned in that course it definitely helped me out in my job. Faculties were very knowledgeable and their way of explaining things and the notes they use to provide were very good and it really helped me out during the exams also. I feel like according to real-world application it was 8/10. Talking about Finance my experience was ok ok,not so good, not so bad, the facilities were very good but as finance is a complex subject their notes didn't helped me out so much. According to real-world application it was 6/10.

Placement Experience

3

So the college placement is pretty impressive. After 2nd semester or from the starting of 3rd semester the companies start to visit the campus. From reputed organizations to banks, to all other companies visit the campus. Every company has different criteria for students to get selected but mostly the companies criteria list consists of no backlogs, about 70% in 10th,12th and graduation year and some written exams and GD & PI. In my batch if I'll talk about banks Axis,HDFC, IndusInd Bank, IDFC irst bank, ICICI prudential etc had visited. Other companies like Career mantra, Fundroom, corizo, intellipat, academor, home first finance, stratview research, bajaj Allianz, ESAF small finance, haleon, solarsquare, bhanzu, Shriram finance, berger paints, Rinex, dhanguard, jaro education, Nipon, TTEC , Gradguru , vrize, planet spark, etc had visited. The companies which were in Chhattisgarh were offering 3-4lpa and other which were outside the Chhattisgarh were offering 7-8 lpa, banks were offering 4-5lpa in Chhattisgarh. The ROI was good according to the fee structure of the college but the packages were not so impressive with the designation so only 25% of the students from my batch were placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did my MBA from Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg in the year 2023-25. MBA has 4 semesters where each semesters fee was 40,000. So the total amount I spent for the fee was 1,60,000 for 2 years. Other than that there is no extra fee as such only exam fee that to about 1200-1500 per semester. There is SC/ST/EWS scholarship scheme which has certain conditions regarding the income and if the conditions are satisfied and proper documents are present, you can get scholarship upto 18,000 - 22,000 per year. The only thing is you've to submit the document each year.

Campus Life

3

So OJAS is very famous fest which is organised by our college mostly in the month of March once a year. Other than that no big fest use to happen. Taking about other clubs, they were good but mostly not in favour of Management students for management students specifically their was only one club which was Young Managers Association (YMA) which was good..many competitions were organised by that club, even many activities use to happen. So for YMA it was 10/10 and for other clubs for management students it was 4/10. Talking about sports it was only for boys and not a single sport for girls. College use to organise inter-department competition in cricket, football, handball only but that to only for boys. Not even a single game for girls be it indoor or outdoor both. Talking about library it was huge and had all kind of books which were accessible and also the library was big and free from any kind of noise so you can sit there and study, till the time college closes.

Admission

Tbh in Durg, Bhilai the number of Management college is pretty less. And by comparing all the colleges like Shankara, Rungta etc I feel like BIT was best among them all as it has a great reputation, affordable fee structure, faculties are good, and placements are best among all of them. So I didn't applied for any other college other than BIT. The admission process was very simple and hassle-free. All kinds of exams are accepted like CAT,MAT,XAT etc but the number of addmission is limited to 200 students I think.

Faculty

The facilities are experienced and very knowledgeable in their field. Always very welcoming to help students no matter it is academics or curricular. Also the faculty to students ratio is pretty good and impressive as there are many faculties available in the department. I had opted for finance and marketing and I must say each faculty in their domain is brilliant and very impressive. I really liked Shravan Pandey sir as he is really a very good faculty, always helping students, frank in nature, no partiality between students and always giving chances to students as he was the head of Young Managers Association (YMA). So the course has 4 semesters, each semester has 2 class tests (CTs) and one final semester exam, first CT consists of 40 marks and 2nd CT consists of 60 marks and the final semester exam was for 80 marks.

Night Life

3

I don't use to live in hostel so the gym was accessible to the hostel guys only. Other than that the library and cafeteria was good it was in walking distance only inside the campus itself. Boys hostel was inside the college and I've no idea about their timings but girls hostel is outside the campus (nearby only) their timings was 8:00 pm after 8 you can't go out. For campus it use to open in morning 9-10 and closes by 5-6.

We were appearing for the placement process from the 4th Semester, however, our batch was being prepared for the placement process from day 1. The first placement process that I appeared for was for Shriram Transport Finance in feb 2008. Admission:

Our CAT interview process is IIM and I am giving you about the IIM Trichy Chennai campus. So we went there and the hospitality very good. And initially, there was one person, he verifies all the documents. And then we went to for CAT exam and were given with pen and paper. We were asked to write on paper and after waiting for a while, they were calling per person one by one. The interview happens in about 15-20 minutes. The interview was started with the basic questions, tell me about yourself? And then they briefly bring to my file, college projects and some business idea. And they asked about my hobbies and even I danced in my interview. That was the funniest part of the interview. Finally, they asked me about the current scenario and I was quite confident about all my answers. I was pretty sure that I would convert all the points.

Remarks:

The first thing I got attracted to this college is, among the new IIMs it really performs well in the case of placement and in terms of studies, in that way I think IIM Raipur is doing great. Being an MBA grad getting the corporation demos online that how can we get exposed to software and its features. I opted for this college over others because of the placement report of last year and also I live in Bhopal so it will be convenient to travel.

Remarks:

So, Raipur was head in terms of low fees, low educational fees, facilities wise a permanent campus. It had a good ratio of students is to faculty and even I had a few reviews so I had a few alumnis from my undergraduate college who were in Raipur and I spoke to them so they gave pretty good feedback about the college or his college and then I also had spoken to other people from other colleges from my undergraduate institutes. So I did a comparison and I meet a matric comparison, so I came to the decision and went into the Raipur.
