Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is much or less similar to that of IIM Lucknow. I enrolled in MBA (HA&HM) which is jointly offered by IIM Jammu, AIIMS Jammu and IIT Jammu. The faculties are top-notch here. Dr. Shakti Kumar Gupta, AIIMS Jammu director and Dr. Harsha Jariwala, chairperson HA&HM, IIM Jammu themselves mentors the students and are always there to offer guidance whenever needed by the students.
Internships Opportunities
For all the MBA 1st year students it is mandatory to complete their summer internship programme for better learning and industry exposure. ICIC, HDFC, BLK Max Hospitals, Napier, etc. visited and hired students for the same.
Placement Experience
The placement process starts in July month itself. The first company that visited the campus for final placements was ICIC, followed by Deloitte, Genpact, KPMG, Vedanta, Digit, Microsoft, McKinsey and many more. The average package offered was around 16.4 lakhs annually and the highest package offered was at 67 lakhs.
Fees and Financial Aid
The detailed fees structure is available on IIM Jammu's website. It is approximately 17 lakhs. But loan services are available there. And also the scholarships are offered to needy students. The average placement package for the batch 2021-23 was 16 lakhs approximately, while the highest package offered was of 67 lakhs.
Campus Life
There are various committees and clubs functional at the campus such as Entrepreneurship Development Committee, Placement Committee, Finance Club, Literary Club, etc. The section wars are one of the lively sports events at the IIM Jammu campus. We also have an annual cultural fest named 'Empyrean'.
Hostel Facilities
MBA is a residential program. So living in hostels is mandatory for all the enrolled students. Hostel fees are included in the total fees themselves. No other registration is required. Mess bill is separately billed on a monthly basis which is to be paid by students as per instructions provided by the catering company.
Admission
I appeared for CAT 2021 and later got a call for PI round. There weren't any additional application fees for it. I received a mail regarding my PI schedules in February and later got the acceptance mail in May. For the offer acceptance we were made to pay 50k fees which was refundable. The admission process is quite transaction here.
Interview Experience
Yes, I appeared for the CAT examination, followed by the PI. I used T.I.M.E. study material for my preparation, read newspaper daily and took some help from Unacademy's mentors. Also, used Arun Kumar's book for practice and Cracku's test series.
