The unique experience in a university.

I have chosen this course as I want to go ahead more with this subject. I have a keen interest in microorganisms which are ubiquitous. My college course curriculum is very good and very upgraded, practical based which makes us so helpful to enhance and strengthen our knowledge. The faculty is also very good and professional. All the professors are very cooperative and student-friendly. We have 4 professors and 17 students in our classroom. So the faculty-student ratio is in limit. Her teaching is very disciplined and routine based. They teach us practical-based teaching which makes us more interested in the subject. They all are post-doctorate from abroad which is very professional. Here exams are semester based, total of 4 semesters in two years. And easy to pass.

There is a minimum fee is required to complete the whole course compared to other universities in West Bengal. I had to pay 4072/- for admission. So the cost of the study is very which is a great facility for the students. Here one can apply for Swami Vivekananda merit cum means scholarship, Aikyashree, Oasis, etc according to the student's interest. This scholarship scheme helps students financially very much. After completing the course the students can get job facilities with different companies or can do research under professors.

Here in Ballygunge Science College Campus, we are enjoying very much every day with our friends. Life is here is so charming and mesmerizing. Swarasti Puja, Basanta Utsab, and Departmental freshers are the main fest that happens here. And a Badminton tournament is organized every year among all the departments on campus which makes all the students more interactive with others. All the activities are very appreciable. Seminars are organized frequently by the departments also and we are given opportunities to attend the other seminars outside informed by the departments.

I am currently studying master's in the department of microbiology in the University of Calcutta(Ballygunge Science College). I have got admitted to this course through the obtained marks in the graduation with the same discipline. This means here selection procedure is through the merit list. And they need a minimum of 55% marks in the previous exam with biology, chemistry, and physics in the higher secondary level and 60% marks as the eligibility. The application form is available on the university website. Students can apply here with the qualifying eligibility. Application fees are waived fully so that is another advantage for the students. After the form fill up the merit list has been published and the students get admitted with the selected merit. Thus overall admission process is very easy.
