Remarks

College is not good place to be in. People come here to fall in love and exchange bodily fluids. Also to drink and do drugs and party. If you really want to have your fair share of indulgence in the world of college, you are welcome. College won't make you a better human being. What you do in your time while being out of college will make a difference. Since attendance is not an issue you can take up some arts or commerce course and pass with not so flying colours and also explore the world around you while being in college. That's what I did!

Entrance Preview

I gave IIT Mains and cleared it. I had marks around 129. I did not clear IIT Advanced so I was stuck. Then I came here to enjoy life in north campus without caring which course I would get into.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I enrolled in Programme course that had chemistry as main subject. The course is for those who love to study science subjects. I studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for all six semesters. In two semesters there was biology. In one semester there was English and in the rest, there was Computer Science. Environmental Education also came as a passing subject in one of the semesters in first year.

Internships Opportunities

Yeah. We have a placement cell where you can enroll and attend their events and seminars. There is no internship as such but you get a lot of opportunities to work while being in college. People recommend you places to go and posters are spread all around in college campus for spreading awareness. I myself pasted a number of posters to successfully enroll new volunteers in CRY (Child Rights and You) while I was in 2nd year.

Placement Experience

3.5

Companies come and place worthy kids. Most of placements take place for kids who are in the elite courses like Eco hons or Bcom hons. Placements are course specific and some of them are open to all courses. I was rejected by one of the organisations that came for interviews and after that I didn't sit in the placements.

College Events

5

Freshers party in odd semesters, Annual and department fest in even semester, Seminars and talks in seminar room, Nukkad natak and awareness meetups in lawn, Photography display. All through the semester (both even and odd) KMC remains a happening place. There are colleges nearby that have events which one can join up if you get bored!

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible. I paid around 11000 annual fee that included exam fee for two semesters. No worries about fee. People who need fee concession can fill up a form and make use of that facility. Also, if you break something in lab or misplace book from library, you have to pay required fine.

Fees and Financial Aid

There were people who had availed scholarships from their respective states but nobody I know of availed any kind of scholarship from college.

Campus Life

4

Sex ratio is largely dependent on course that you select. Girls are majorly concentrated in Biology, Zoology, Life Sciences and English hons. You can join societies to meet new people and develop your skills in debating, acting, writing and photography. There also exists NCC - Army and NSS in our college.

Hostel Facilities

4

I stayed with my friends and at my grandparents' place, not in the hostel. There is boys hostel where getting a seat is hugely dependent on your marks since seats are limited and students very high in number. Canteen food is good and we have Kamla Nagar nearby so there is no issue to getting your tongues a nice treat!

Alumni/Alumna

Yeah, people are helpful. But when you'll take admission in college all students will come over to help you for seeking votes in elections that are supposed to happen in September. After elections are over, then you'll be able to differentiate between friends and charlatans. Teachers are helpful and have enough of "gyan" to smother your head with.

Exam Structure

Very relaxed. I didn't attend a single class in 6th semester and gave exams without any hassle. For science students it is important to be regular in lab because professors are very cocky at the time of practicals and play games while offering marks to students. I last semester we also had to make a working project in Physics. We made it from Youtube and showed it.

Admission

It is simple. I came alone and did my father's sign by myself. Paid the fee and got bank receipt. It takes one day if you arrive early in morning as soon as procedure of admission begins. Having passport size photo and necessary documents is important. 10, 12 marksheet and passing certificate. Also migration and caste certificate when needed in your case. Fee was then paid in cash. Now it happens online.

Faculty

3.5

People in science department are not very supportive and ask kids to lick their ass for getting marks. Professors in Arts department are good and in KMC you can join societies to meet them. I was in the gender forum and teachers there were humans first and professors later. In science department, they are very bossy and expect sycophancy.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of Hansraj College is quite active. You are eligible to sit for campus placement offers from 5th semester onwards. Companies like Deloitte, capgemini arw frequent recruiters for several posts and positions. The highest offered package is somewhere around 22000 with the average being at 700000-800000. Not all students get placed on campus, however thr hands on training and learning makes you industry ready, making you eligible amd worthy to apply for off campus placement opportunities. Many students prefer not to sit for campus placements and rather opt for higher studies after graduation. I plan to do the same after getting my undergraduate degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think the BSc Statistics (H) offered by Sri Venkateshwara College has been quite relevant and comprehensive in content. The core courses such as probability, inference, regression, and econometrics were the major reasons for opting for the subject of statistics. It provides us in-depth analytical training that is necessary for higher education and work in the field of data, though there is a need for exposure to software/tools as well. The semester-wise examination, which is moderately tough

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is just like any other college, and you need to do a lot of the skill enhancement by yourself. Here, you will learn something, but not everything that is relevant. The professors will teach according to the syllabus, be it really relevant in real life or not. Everything that you will be learning will be relevant for career in this field, but not enough. You require to put some extra efforts to gain more knowledge and practice.

Placement Experience:

Students typically become eligible from 3rd year/6th semester onwards for most companies. Some internships and tech roles may be available to 2nd-year students depending on the company criteria. Placement Percentage: Usually, 70–85% of eligible students get placed, depending on the stream. Highest placement rates are often in Computer Science, Economics, and Commerce streams. My plan is to become a software engineer.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Cource curriculum is highly relevant. It covers fundamental and advanced concepts of zoology , which was the main reason I choose this course. Subjects like human physiology, biochemistry, biomolecules, comparative anatomy of vertebrates, animal behaviour, ...etc. are highly interested and align with my interest. Practical components help in developing and understanding concepts more clearly. However, real world applications is limited. Curriculum prepare students well for further academics for PG or other competitive exams. Exam system is conducted at regular intervals with Internal assessment and semester end. Timings are appropriate . Difficulty level is moderate to high.

Hindu College, Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Mathematics)
Reviewed on Jan 6, 2026(Enrolled 2025)

Course Curriculum Overview:

For B.Sc (Hons) Mathematics at Hindu College, the curriculum follows the latest DU UGCF?2022 structure, so it covers both strong theory and some modern applications. The main reason to choose this course is the depth in core areas like Calculus, Algebra, Real Analysis, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations and Probability, which builds a very solid base for higher studies like M.Sc, data science or research. There are six semesters with continuous internal assessment plus end?semester exams, so students study regularly instead of only before finals. Exams are usually moderate to difficult because questions are concept?based, but the pattern is fair and gives weightage to assignments, tutorials and attendance. Overall, the course is quite comprehensive and relevant for careers in teaching, analytics, government exams and higher academics, though adding more practical projects, programming and real?life modelling could make it even more industry?oriented
