Remarks

So primarily there is no entrance exam for our program only need to have cleared the 12th grade but the cutoff for the college was 84% so need to achieve above that. I had got all admission-related forms, dates in college itself there were many volunteers to help. There are reservation quotas but I didn't avail. I would like to have processed on a specific college app so it will be easy for all to get the admission process smooth.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I choose this program because I was very much attentive in commerce, capital markets, financial analysis, accounting, auditing the reports of companies and also used to read various economic news and auditors reports. Our faculties are very good at explaining and understanding the concepts many of them hold a B.ed degree, PHD degree and many have years of experience in teaching. Our exams are the internal semsester of 25 marks and external semester of 75 marks which held in Nov and March. And exams are a little bit difficult but if you prepare well it would be very easy for you.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

I got the Internship at a firm called Deloitte in which I was supposed to assist a charted accountant with all data collection work and using mainly excel then so it was an overall good experience I also got to corporate etiquette and learned how to talk with colleges, seniors and with clients. So overall a good experience for me.

Placement Experience

4.5

Companies like TCS, Aditya birala capital, Wipro and many more are visited to college every year and roles offered to this program is Accountant research analyst ,Auditor etc. As far as the placements for the students of the B.Com course are concerned, they can expect a starting salary ranged between Rs. 8,000-16,000 per month. Placements were pretty decent for the students who are pursuing a normal B.Com degree. The lowest salary offered was around Rs. 10,000 per month. The highest salary offered was around Rs. 27,000 per month for a B.Com graduate. To get placement through the college you need atleast 65 percentage.

Fees and Financial Aid

The Fees for the Program is 24000 in that we have all-inclusive fees and it has various fees components such as gymkhana fees, tuition fees, laboratory fees, maintenance fees, IT fees, Library fees, ID card fees, etc. I haven't got any scholarship but our college provides it so for students who are facing any kind of financial problem and good at academics can avail themselves it. I am looking forward to get a campus placement which will be announced by the college soon.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus is happening and highly crowded from various disciplines. Our college conducts intercollegiate competitions along with the promotion of cultural activities like Vaze Vitee dance and drama, Dhruva Sanskrit fest, treasure hunt, science association, NSS, women development cell, placement cell, IQVAC, career guidance cell, research promotions committee, English literary club, G.D Kelkar skill development courses like mushroom cultivation, foreign languages like German, Japanese, Spanish, French, etc. Our college offers a B.Voc course on travel tourism first time in Mumbai University. Our college has its own magazine known as Mayur and Vaze newsletter. Our college organises an annual function as well as Dimensions fest which have various events for 2 days with intercollegiate competitions, DG wars and many more. The entire college is crowded with students during Dimensions fest as every year they invite a celebrity including Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Subodh Bhave, Ankush Chaudh

Placements in my college are decent but not very high. students usually become eligible from the final year and few companies visit for roles like accounting assistant, sales, customer service. The average package is usually around Rs.2LPA-Rs.3LPA.

Due to NEP the course has been more developed to the students and teachers also explain the topocs to us very clearly and the thing should be change that the timing of the paper are at morning time which is at 7:30am it should be 10 or 10:30 because this time the students get late to the paper and didnt get time to prep.

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the key aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the B.Com course at Sydenham College was its strong foundation in core commerce subjects such as Accounting, Economics, Business Law, and Finance. The structured progression from basic to advanced concepts, along with exposure to subjects like taxation and auditing, made the program particularly appealing for students aiming for careers in finance, CA, CS, or management.

Not many though as too many sections and 500+ students means getting placed even half the students can be a task where Mithibai placement percentage is 60 odd percentage.
