Faculty

5

Exams are not that easy you really have to prepare hard and majorly focus on what has been taught in class . Like questions in accounts and finance cost management accounting practice all the questions that are done in class. Student and teacher relationship is very good-they're very knowledgeable They're easy going and ready to help you anytime till the end. Each sem has 2 exams ( Internals-10 marks written paper , 15 marks assignment/ viva / presentation and Sem end exam 75 marks). Passing marks is 30/75 in sem end and 10/25 in internals .Out of 100 25%-30% students fail . Best faculties are from Human resource management Business finance Stats.

Night Life

4

There is no college hostel but a lot of hostels in nearby areas loke youth hive student housing . But flats are better than hostels . Hostels are very expensive. There is ko campus as such classes are held on 2/3 floors only as 4 colleges take place in one building.college has a good cafe and library is too amazing like literally you can sit whole day . There are so many good cafes outside and also the fast food in the lane of college only

Other Applied Colleges

Delhi University - [DU] | Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com]

I wanted to get admitted in top colleges of DU but couldn’t because the cut off was 97-98-99%

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The B.com is not a very comprehensive and complex degree to complete for someone who wants to pursue his/her career in finance. It can be referred as an initial start or push start for one's finance journey over the years. Also the relevance of B.com in real world is gradually decreasing day by day.

Placement Experience:

From semester 5, you become eligible for final placement and semester 3 for internship placement. many companies like Nykaa, Myntra, Duetsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, Deloitte, Zomato, Beerbiceps and more have visited. the highest package in history is 38 lakh per annum. The average is 8-9 lakh per annum. Around 70% of students get the college placement. My plan is to start my own business after college. I am although doing internships through college. Already done one in Beerbiceps and one in chorus call.

Placements in my college are decent but not very high. students usually become eligible from the final year and few companies visit for roles like accounting assistant, sales, customer service. The average package is usually around Rs.2LPA-Rs.3LPA.

Due to NEP the course has been more developed to the students and teachers also explain the topocs to us very clearly and the thing should be change that the timing of the paper are at morning time which is at 7:30am it should be 10 or 10:30 because this time the students get late to the paper and didnt get time to prep.

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the key aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the B.Com course at Sydenham College was its strong foundation in core commerce subjects such as Accounting, Economics, Business Law, and Finance. The structured progression from basic to advanced concepts, along with exposure to subjects like taxation and auditing, made the program particularly appealing for students aiming for careers in finance, CA, CS, or management.

Remarks:

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
