About RA Podar College of Commerce and Economics
Also known as Ramniranjan Anandilal Podar College of Commerce and Economics, the foundation of the college draws its root from the time of freedom struggle, when it was realised to have a college having indigenous values. A trust named “Shikshana Prasaraka Mandali” initiated this task in 1940.

Placements: RA Podar College conducted its 2020 placement drive, wherein a student bagged a placement package worth INR. 11 LPA within the first phase of the placements. The students witnessed an increase in the number of finance profiles and a dip in the marketing profiles offered. The highest CTC stood at INR. 13 LPA.

Computer labs-
The computer lab is well equipped with modern facilities and houses more than over 70 computers with modern licensed software to facilitate the appropriate learning of computer systems and application.
Seminar hall-
The college houses a well maintained and equipped seminar hall with a seating capacity of around 60 persons at a time.
Auditorium-
The college has a well-developed Auditorium. It is also known as Main Hall or Assembly Hall. Equipped with a well-furnished stage along with green room, the hall has a capacity of around 500 students.
Language lab-
The college also has a dedicate lab for language learning, which has a total of 15 computers installed with dedicated language softwares with accessories such as headphone and mic.
Audio visual room-
The college also houses an audio visual room fully equipped with facilities such as LCD, Projectors, Screens, white boards along with internet facilities.
Connectivity room-
The connectivity rooms has 4 cubicles dedicated to WDC, Extension Unit, Placement Cell and Student Council.
Gymkhana-
The college has a gymkhana which has a well dedicated sections for various sports and activities, which include table tennis, carom, chess and NCC rooms.
Festivals:
- Enigma- It is annual inter collegiate cultural festival of the college in which the college plays host to students from different parts of the country. The spotlight of the fest are various dance, drama, music, fine arts followed by film fest and quizzes which are intricately and carefully designed and impeovised.
- Moneta- Moneta is the largest financial market event of India. The annual inter college event has received wide acclaims since its conception in 2009. The fest provides the conducive ambience for inculcation of practical approach towards the financial market. The intriguing events of Moneta are Bull ring, Black gold, Synergies, The Conatagion etc.

- After Ra Podar College, I look forward to pursuing DP CA and other degrees to enhance my skills and knowledge. A few companies/shops advertise in the college by paying a sum of money for a few days.
- There was a canteen on the ground floor of our campus, and it was relatively small in comparison to canteens in other colleges.

Admission:
The eligibility is 12th passed from reputed university with good score. The application form is available on official website of R.A.Podar college of commerce and economics. The difficulty level of course is slightly higher comparing other bachelor of commerce courses.

Admission:
The admission process was quite simple as I opted for inhouse quota. I had pretty good percentage so getting admission was not an issue. The course requires you to complete your higher secondary studies from commerce stream. The cut out is around 80 to 85% of your 12th boards. I have not availed for reservation but there are many benefits available such as full fee refund. The admission process can be done simple by making it online

- Computer Labs are good, ventilated but are small. But have 3 4labs in college.
- Some faculty members are great like library members and friendly teachers.
Dislikes
- Teachers are not that great at teaching and not much informative.
- Poor and unclean sanitation and washroom facilities for girls.
Admission:
Any B.com or other discipline graduate can apply for this course. Everything about admission details is available on the college website. There are some reservation benefits for SC/ST/EWC students(not completly aware about it as I took admission in open category). No such problem in overall admission process. Just had to visit college once or twice for submitting hardcopies else everything is done online.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The reason why chose B.Com was because the subjects offered by the course was to my liking and also I wanna do MBA after B.Com so that course seemed fit for me. Along with that, the faculties were also well educated with proper degrees and most of them have masters' degree in there field of subject.
Admission:
This college is one of the best commerce colleges in Mumbai. The admission process had started in June. I chose this college because it provided various opportunities to an ambitious person like me. However one of the bad aspects is no campus and a little ignorance towards students' concerns.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I chose this course because I wanted to get a masters degree in commerce from a well know institute. Here in this institution the student ratio for male female was about 54:46 thats pretty much good. The teaching faculty here were highly qualified professionals from a well know institue as well. Teaching standards were always high and well maintained. Exams and terms were taken in a systematic and timely manner, with easy to moderate difficulty level.
Course Curriculum Overview:
Strict academic activities are been followed along with all the extra circular activities like fest, quiz, shows, treks, camps, social awakening, etc. Faculty is great. They try to understand the students situation and hence gives students some concession regarding assignment, projects and presentation. It's my personal opinion my professors were of friendly nature.

Admission:
The main reason for choosing this college is that it is an autonomous college. The admission process and the dates are well scheduled and the process is carried out smoothly. This college is near my home so it is convenient to travel and therefore I prefer this college over other colleges.
