Remarks

I took wbjee to enter this college, my rank was 1757, I got computer science branch at this rank, which usually closes at 2000 rank. The application form could be found on wbjee website and the application fee is 500. The application process begins in December end of January.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose this course because I want to be a software developer. The faculty-student ratio is good here at iem, the faculties are well qualified and have a very nice teaching method. We have exams every two months,i.e., two mid-semester exams and then end-semester exams. The questions asked in the exams are of average level which you could easily solve if you focus daily in your classes and do the assignments given by the faculties. There are a total of ten theory papers in every mid-semester and end-semester exam. You have to focus on your classes if you want to pass with a good cgpa.

Internships Opportunities

There are some internship opportunities available in the college, offered by companies like Microsoft, TCS, Infosys, etc. I do not have much knowledge about this area so cannot say much but I will update you about it later.

Placement Experience

Students become eligible for campus placements after 6 semesters. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Microsoft,etc. visit the campus placements. The highest package offered by Microsoft was 44 LPA and the average package is about 8 LPA. Almost 90 percent students of cse department got placed. I plan for both campus and off-campus placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fee for the entire four years is 580000. I have not got any scholarship on campus so can't talk about that but some of my friends have got scholarships through different schemes. The fees are usually increased every two to three years.

Campus Life

The annual fest is a diversion and is usually conducted in the month of December. As per the availability of books and journals in the library, I would say it is below average. The classroom is well equipped. There are also extracurricular and sports activities but not as great as some of you might have expected. We have a society for data science, robotics club, innovation club, etc.

Should I Choose IEM.

Placement Experience:

Eligibility for placement is from 3rd year,with tier 1 companies visiting like Google, Amazon along with mass requiters like TCS, Capgemini, Wipro etc.Last year heights placement package was 72LPA offered to 15 students and average was 2-3 LPA.

Okay college and decent placement

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is same as all low 3 tier colleges which is nearly 4-5 lpa average salary given by mass recuitor companies .The companies are infosys , ltimindtree , accenture , ibm , capgemini , cognigent , etc .The placement rate is nearly 60 to 70 percent.

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for campus placements from third year that is after 5th semester. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant and IBM are amongst the mass hirers. Almosy 80 percent of the students get placed every year and the top 10 percent of the students receive high paying job offers. The average package is around 4.86 LPA and in 2023, the highest package was 16 LPA and in 2022, the highest package was 44 LPA. Talking about my future plans, I wish to pursue my masters abroad after completing my undergraduate course here.

Placement Experience:

Despite the low fee structure, my college provides a good placements. Almost every student of CSE Dept who sit for placement, gets the placement between 4lpa - 6lpa. Last year the highest package was ?12 lpa. ECE department has the lowest percentage of placements. And other engineering departments have between 60-70% placement. All the mentioned above is the description of in campus placement. Not many students of my college opt for out campus. But if they do, they get good placements as per the reports. In 2021 a student secured the job in Microsoft, with the placement of ?45 lpa (out campus).

So I take admission through WBJEE in IEM KOLKATA in B.tech in electrical engineering. Review of My IEM University

When I was searching for the best college to get the admission, some people told me to try for Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM) and after I got admitted to this college, I really understood that I selected the right college. I will always prefer this college because discipline is strictly obeyed in IEM and all the teachers are like parents. In 2019, admission was going on offline and it was held around the month of July. This year, due to covid pandemic, the admission process was held around the month of October and from 2nd November, online education started for the first year batch. According to me, the one and only bad aspect is that every semester, Rs. 65,000 is to be paid by each and every student to continue with their education which is quite high according to me.
