Remarks

PI shortlisting based on CAT score as well as other criteria like diversity and work experience. The admission criteria vary every year and it is mentioned on the website. MDI is a private institution and reservations are not applicable. After PI shortlisting, a mentor from the college will be assigned who could be approached for guidance.

Course Curriculum Overview

The PGDM course at MDI is one of the best in the country. The faculty members are distinguished and have experience teaching at other top-tier IIMs. The admission process is favorable to students with work experience. The teaching methods are practically case-oriented and take into account contemporary business problems. The examinations are held in a timely manner as per the trimester system.

Internships Opportunities

Assistance for Internships is provided by the college just like the final placements. The names of companies and details regarding the stats could be found on MDI's website. MDI has good placements across finance, consulting, operations, and has a special mark in the marketing field.

Placement Experience

The placements at MDI are at par with other top-tier colleges in India like XLRI, IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode, etc. The average CTC is at 23.15 LPA and highest at 44 LPA which is expected to rise this year. The entire batch is signed out every year.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee has been fairly constant at around 23 lakhs for the entire course. Almost all the banks have a special scheme to finance the fee without any collateral (for ex, SBI's scholar loan scheme). Scholarships are available as well. The placement committee is in place and internship as well as final placement assistance is provided.

Campus Life

The campus life is excellent. MDI has a lush, green campus with iconic architecture amidst Gurgaon's concrete jungle. We have an excellent library, classrooms, sports, gym, and all other amenities. There are around 30 clubs in the college covering almost all interest groups.

Hostel Facilities

The hostels for the first years are a little old but the 2nd years have an excellent hostel which was recently constructed. The mess menu is decided by the students themselves and the quality of food is good. Since the campus is a bio bubble, staying in the hostel is advised.

Interview Experience

Post initial shortlisting, mentors from the college are assigned and preparation material will be shared. There was only PI, no GD in 2021. The interview panel would consist of 2 professors from MDI and experience varies based on the panel.

Best college for MBA in Gurgaon (Delhi NCR).

Placement Experience:

Almost 650% of students land a PPO with the companies they intern at. For the others, the Placement Cell does an amazing job of lining up companies for campus recruitment. The highest package recorded has been 16 LPA with an average revolving around around 6 LPA. I think it's reliable placement scenario and we are given enough training to do our best in the interviews.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum combines the theory as well as practical subjects. The course includes projects and assignements based on the different tools like excel, Power BI, Python, SQL. The course assignments and projects take place in the end of the trimesters for most of the subjects which make it quite hectic to submit them for some subjects overlapping each other.

GLIM Placements start from the beginning of 2nd year as till then we are also done with our intenrships. Also, placements here are lesser than that of Chennai but still median of GLIM is around 15 lakhs which is much better than other B-Schools of NCR.

Since my CAT percentile was quite less, 96, and being from a top NIT, I wanted to get into a B-School which could complement my NIT tag, while my fream was a tier - 1 college, my percentile shut all doors. I chose MDI Gurgaon over XLRI Delhi, IIM Shillong, new and baby IIMS, NITIE - PGDSM. The reason for choosing MDI was its proximity to my hometown, Tier 1 status. I was rejected from IIM ABCLKI and FMS - Delhi mostly on the basis of my undergrad scores and a CAT percentile which was not high enough. Internship in ABG !!

You need to appear in the CAT exam. Any percentile over 90%ile with a sectional of 70 70 70 cleared will fetch you a call from MDI Gurgaon. However, to convert core, 96+ is a safe score for non-engg and 98.5+ for GEM. After you get a shortlist, you'll have to appear and fill out a form which MDI-G will send and you can edit your details there. Further, you'll get a PI date.
