1-I applied for most of Bengal's prestigious colleges like IEM, Heritage, Netaji Shubhash and of course Jadavpur University. I ended up going to NPTI DURGAPUR for its well know single branch coree stream of Power engineering and also its presence only in two institutes i.e.Jadavpur and NPTI. 2-No quota availed, got it through WBJEE. 3-The last rank of admission was 4500, luckily I had 1993 as my WBJEE rank. Age, as was 17+nd admission criteria, were 60+ aggregate in 10th and 12th (8+ cgpa wise). 4- The admission process was smooth and faculties took care of minute details and processes.
More intrest in electrical sector than computer science and IT sector that's why I prefered this college. Faculty and professor were qualified and trained enough to guide the student in write direction.Student : teacher ratio is around 60:1. Exams are timely not much difficult to pass.
it's purely based on thermal power plant.who are interested in thermal power plat can join this course.this couse is made such a way that you can gain in depth knowledge about power plant and how it's work.it's a year course and devided into modules.there are 2 semester to pass on and in last semester you will have projects submission with elective. After completing this course you will be ready to serve in power plant without any further training provided in corporate. Here company comes to take students due to course curriculum structure and competitive environment in campus.
Teachers here were very qualified and knowledgeable. Teachers here had a good experience in the power sector. Teachers here used method was based on presentation. The student to faculty ratio was 60:1. The college provided a lot of industry exposure since we visited a lot of different technologies power plants. As the college had a high network of alumni, nobody faces any difficulty after joining the job. Alumni regularly visited the campus and shared their experience of the industry
It was a 2 year duration course where we were brushed on accounting skills and learnt more about organizational behaviors and legends of management theories. Faculties were well experienced and supportive as well.
The academic cell of the college is the highlighted point of the college. The college has very good reviews when it comes to studies and the faculty. The faculties are highly educated and very patient with the students. They teach each and every topic very carefully and solve every doubts of the students
The academic was well developed after being established in 1975. College got enough of years to design everything particularly. Exams were held twice a year in two phase. One phase consisted of externals and another phase was internals.
Course Curriculum was good but depented on old technology. College didn't update Course Curriculum from last 10 years. Because of that till student having problems in field. In faculties, some are good but almost are worst.
Course instructive arrangement is faultlessly arranged by school staff and it is entirely pleasing all the subjects are noteworthy degree given is Power Engineering still it involve Mechanical + Electrical calendar.
Course educational plan is flawlessly planned by school staff and it is very agreeable all the subjects are significant degree given is Power Engineering still it comprise of 80% Mechanical + 20% Electrical schedule.
