Remarks

Sacred Heart College, situated in the heart of Kochin [KERALA] is a very prestigious college, students from all over India and International students come here for their undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The college is known for its excellence in academics going hand in hand with its excellence in co-curricular. However this is too good to be true because the college definitely has a strained selection procedure, the admission process is very selective. It's an easy entry for meritorious students. Eligibility for undergraduate courses is 12th standard from a recognized board, cut off for state syllabus is 98-100% , cut off for CBSE is up to 95%. My knowledge about postgraduation admissions is limited, but the cut-off is about 9 to 10 CGPA. The applications for the admissions are online [shcollege.ac.in] , application fees cost around 200-300/-INR. Students have an alternate option of applying via management quota but I suggest it is not pocket friendly

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I am pursuing my degree in BSc Mathematics, I had an affinity towards learning mathematics from a very young age, and hence I planned on doing my graduation in mathematics. My college has limited seats for my subjects its maximum 30 students the boy to girl ratio is pretty less. For mathematics subjects, my college provides one of the best courses with highly qualified faculty and challenging peers along with exams. The faculty members are very welcoming they are open to doubts and are enthusiastic to teach. Our exams were conducted on time even though it was the time of covid and the safety protocols were executed wonderfully students were handled by batches and exams were conducted smoothly, as our learning was online exams were very approachable and were easy to pass.

Internships Opportunities

5

There are many companies that come to select students for placements and internships, Deloitte is one of the many multinational companies which came recently, it gave placements to more than 10 students from our college as per my knowledge, South Indian Bank also comes to our college with placements and internship opportunities, the competition is tough and selection is very narrow and selective.

Placement Experience

4

Sacred Heart College, has a very strong campus placement cell, students become eligible for applying for placements and internships during their 2 and third years, companies like Deloitte and various banks come here with placements, my plans after getting a degree is to go abroad and pursue postgraduation, as a large number of students from my college get accepted to known colleges abroad.

Fees and Financial Aid

My campus is very supportive of students in financial need and is willing to verify any documents for that procedure, we do have a scholarship counter on the main desk of our college campus, there are many undergraduate scholarships available for students pursuing a degree i either UG or PG in the national scholarship portal, and the college does the necessary for the student to get approved of that scholarship. For the scholarship from the college, one can visit the website of the college and check their eligibility and hence apply for the scholarship.

Campus Life

4.5

The college is overflowing with clubs and its co-curricular activities, our college is a three-time winner of the MG university youth festival, there are many tests like Jesus youth harvest, sargapatham etc. Father Sales library as our library is known is one of the largest libraries i have ever seen ,I have a wide variety of books in many sections, and the book you are looking for is definitely in there ;) . Sports like basketball, football are very active in the college, the college has a gym and an outdoor gym near Lakeview point which makes workout sessions incredibly soothing. There sre clubs like AGF where students teach senior citizens who are enthusiastic to learn. The college covers everything in terms of cocurricular and sports activities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is almost best. Curriculum doesn't influenced me in deciding this course. Curriculum should add internships. Currently there is no mandatory internship, if students are interested they can do internship during vacations. As we are learning psychology which need to be practiced in real world settings, curriculum must include real world training to help students understand things more effectively. Currently intervel between exams are non existent. Internal exams, then semester exams, you blink once, next internal exams, followed by semester exams. Syllabus is understandable, can learn if you try. Exams are also manageable. Real world examples and stories can be included in teaching methods, as psychology is related to humans and human interaction, to get better grasp of concepts. Rather than focusing on passing exam, should focus on the concepts and understand them in-depth. There are a lot of theories to study by heart. And there are many repetitive topics that overlap, but in different semesters.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel in love with mathematics in plus two time. The coursee are more application based when compared to other. Out college being an autonomous college has good grip to keep up to the level of good education. Overall teaching methods and syllabus are very good. Frequency of exams are troublesome during the last time of year because all the programmes like youth festival annual day etc come together

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is Bsc Biotechnology. It is a research associated course. Its main scope is in research. But in every industry let it be medical or industrial a biotechnologist is required. I would like more practical knowledge than theory knowledge in this course as it is needed to be implemented in labs hands on experience is essential. Exams are conducted every 6 months as semester. Class tests and model exams are conducted frequently. Assignments, projects, seminar ,etc.. are given every month.
