Course Curriculum Overview

4

My course is Bsc Biotechnology. It is a research associated course. Its main scope is in research. But in every industry let it be medical or industrial a biotechnologist is required. I would like more practical knowledge than theory knowledge in this course as it is needed to be implemented in labs hands on experience is essential. Exams are conducted every 6 months as semester. Class tests and model exams are conducted frequently. Assignments, projects, seminar ,etc.. are given every month.

Internships Opportunities

4

Iam a first year student so don't know about the companies providing internships. Internships are provided here. And through Placement cell so many students have been placed in various companies. As it is compulsory to do internship as per the FYUGP programme it is sure you will get it

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is different for every course Fee is paid per sem my course takes 13000. College is self financing college. Fee taken at admission time is given below Arts and sports- 1000 Caution deposit -500 Union and magazine -1500 Other fee -2700 Pta fund -500

Campus Life

4

Overall it is great college with great lab and facilities. Bathrooms are very clean and very comfortable. There are so many clubs including language clubs and other clubs like music, tourism, biodiversity, etc.. NCC and NSS are also here. Student political parties are here if you are interested you can join them

Admission

I chose this college as it is near to my hometown and i like biotechnology as iam a bio aspirant. My ambition was to be a doctor and didnt get enough support so i chose this course. In order to get selected in this college through merit you have to go through college allotment and should have good score in your previous academic year

Faculty

4

Faculties of my department are very good in teaching and supportive in every aspect as they encourage in extra curricular activities along studies. Most teachers are like this only few are being rude without proper reason and not standing by their words. Overall faculty is great in here. Exams here are conducted by Kannur University. From 2024 FYUGP is followed so Blooms taxonomy is going on so exams are followed in this pattern. We need to have a great and vast understanding in the concerned subject in order to score good marks

Night Life

3

College lacks a proper cafteria facility but there is a temporary one here from were we can have tea coffee, lemonade, and snacks. You have to give your phone back at 9pm to warden. Hostels are with good facilities. Iam not a hostler so don't know more about it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is almost best. Curriculum doesn't influenced me in deciding this course. Curriculum should add internships. Currently there is no mandatory internship, if students are interested they can do internship during vacations. As we are learning psychology which need to be practiced in real world settings, curriculum must include real world training to help students understand things more effectively. Currently intervel between exams are non existent. Internal exams, then semester exams, you blink once, next internal exams, followed by semester exams. Syllabus is understandable, can learn if you try. Exams are also manageable. Real world examples and stories can be included in teaching methods, as psychology is related to humans and human interaction, to get better grasp of concepts. Rather than focusing on passing exam, should focus on the concepts and understand them in-depth. There are a lot of theories to study by heart. And there are many repetitive topics that overlap, but in different semesters.
