Course Curriculum Overview

The course is not much complexed and can be studied if you have a bio-science background. Curriculum/syllabus is also manageable not very hard if you cope up. Exam pattern has changed from this year and it requires students to think and answer more criticaly

Class Size: 27Course Fees: INR 13000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees structure in ssits for the course biotechnology is 13000/- that is per semester. You'll have a total of 6 semisters for a regular degree(3years) while 8 semisters for an honours degree(4years... according to the new FYUGP rule)

Campus Life

Campus life in here is good if you have friends of your wavelength otherwise doesn't make much difference. The college doesn't encourage/have much sport or extracurricular activities. Books and journal availablity in Library is good to an extent. Classrooms are not high-tech just normal classes. All classrooms do not posses a projector only some does.

Admission

I chose this college as it was among the only few colleges in kannur,kerala that provided this particular course (biotechnology) and among other colleges that provided this course, ssits had a stronger reputation for biotechnology. As the college is a self financing college, admission process was not difficult or confusing.

Faculty

On behalf of my department (biotechnology) we are blessed with great teachers who knows their job. Including our mentors, teachers HOD everyone is quite approachable and amiable. Language teachers are just average when it comes to languages like hindi College provides multiple languages like malayalam,hindi,arabic,eng. The course is not much complexed and can be aced if you have intrest in science and biology. Model exams and class tests are often conducted before the main sem exam so eventually you'll get used to the topics.

Night Life

The college does not have any night life at all. It doesn't provide gymnasium , lacks a proper cafeteria , small library, there's not much hanging out spots in the whole campus except few seating areas under trees :)

A Decent College for BSc chemistry students

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choosed this degree for me to pursue higher studies in uk or foreign country to study cosmetics related field. So for that bsc chemistry degree must have But this curriculum doesn't teach something base to that I think so.. For further studies the teachers need improvement to teach certain topics some teachers didn't even prepare to study students and lab safety is not in the lab.Because of the teaching the portions are done in last minutes and often exams are difficult in major subjects so they need to improve their study methods and often approach students nicely..

Why you should/shouldn't join LISSAH

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is almost best. Curriculum doesn't influenced me in deciding this course. Curriculum should add internships. Currently there is no mandatory internship, if students are interested they can do internship during vacations. As we are learning psychology which need to be practiced in real world settings, curriculum must include real world training to help students understand things more effectively. Currently intervel between exams are non existent. Internal exams, then semester exams, you blink once, next internal exams, followed by semester exams. Syllabus is understandable, can learn if you try. Exams are also manageable. Real world examples and stories can be included in teaching methods, as psychology is related to humans and human interaction, to get better grasp of concepts. Rather than focusing on passing exam, should focus on the concepts and understand them in-depth. There are a lot of theories to study by heart. And there are many repetitive topics that overlap, but in different semesters.

Placement Experience:

From semester 5 the opportunity to get a job is out there. Many companies comes to interview and they swlect the apt ones. Sun, Mahendra etc are some of the companies i remember. The highesr package for freshers is like 15000 a month. There is a high percentage of students getting placements its 80-85%.My plan is to study masters.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is Bsc Biotechnology. It is a research associated course. Its main scope is in research. But in every industry let it be medical or industrial a biotechnologist is required. I would like more practical knowledge than theory knowledge in this course as it is needed to be implemented in labs hands on experience is essential. Exams are conducted every 6 months as semester. Class tests and model exams are conducted frequently. Assignments, projects, seminar ,etc.. are given every month.

I chose Bsc electronics, it has an attractive curriculum and some of them are influenced me in some way. The facilities are well-known about the curriculum preparing and all. The current curriculum is good but it needs some changes. Include more practicals is one of my suggestion. Teaching methods are good it doesn't need any change. Exams are conducted by Kerala University, so the college can't do anything in main exams but the college will complete all the portions before the exam date it is sure.

This college is not that far from my place and it's so easy to come and go daily. And also it's a good campus and the collge is having a good education system's and also i got suggestion to take this college. This is the 1st option i give during the course registration. In the trail i got another college with other course and in the 1st allotment i got this course in the college which got it trail i just visited the college for 1 day. And after that in 3nd allotment got the same option no changes so i become a little abset that that college is so far and other things but in third allotment got the first option that i really not expected. Because they some peoples say that there is not a high chance to change option in third allotment and other things. I give one college which is aided and everyone know there is low possible to get admission or allotment in that college.
