Remarks

At first, we have to attend the state engineering of West Bengal i.e. WBJEE. And then according to rank college get allocated in counselling. If you have ranked under 2000 then you can get the CSE department here, which is the best branch here. You can also get admission through JEE mains marks. Then again same process through counselling.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

I choose CSE, because I was so excited to learn more about computers n the latest technology. Faculty ratio 1:8 which is pretty good. And all the facilities are well learned and with doctorate degrees. Term exams are the easiest one. You can pass the exam in one night study as I used to do :p. Because they give the previous year papers only, just go through 2-3 years papers and Who you are done with good marks. But lab exams are pretty tough as it all depends on examiner mood like what type of questions they will ask. If you are lucky enough they will just take your intro only or else they will ask things which you haven't even heard.

Placement Experience

1.5

From the 3rd year itself, you will be able to seat for placement exams. And for your information, placement conditions were very very bad way back years, but year by year it is improving like now people are getting placed not with high package but they get placement off campusing only. Like you will have to go Kolkata or Durgapur for giving exams, that also decreases the percentage of selection. Nearly 15-20 colleges visit or college sends us to give exams, and they offer an average package of 3.5 LPA. For CSE, nearly 75% of students will get placed and obviously, UITians are laborious they manage to place by anyhow. Like by their efforts only. For other departments, placement is tough as core company they rarely refer or have tie up with college. After completing my degree I want to work for a big company like Amazon and after that want to work for my startup.

Fees and Financial Aid

There was a scholarship for the students of Bengal and they get lots of preference too. But since I was not from Bengal I didn't get anything as a scholarship as such. And the fee is quite high according to the facilities they provide.

Campus Life

3.5

The annual fest that we had was the waltz. It's a two days fest having programs as ethnic for the first day and western for another day. These two days are really enjoyable as we have the best band in West Bengal with lots of food stalls. Lots of entertainment. But this fest rarely happens like in 4 years we had just one fest. They happened in April-May organised by 3rd and 4th year students. Libraries of UIT are just average. There are 3 types of newspapers. No extra magazine and all. Just curriculum books are there. Also, there are computers with the internet. The only place where we have internet access after lab of course. Classrooms are shit, broken benches and glasses are there. And yes there are notes on all the 4 boards full planned for copying in exam xD. There is a very poor condition for sports and extracurricular activities as college invest nothing in that. Even for freshers party, we have to do strike and all to get the fund. Farewell, the party we organise with our collection and funds.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel rooms are in poor condition. The first time when you will come it gives the feeling of some haunted place. But gradually you gonna love it. The hostel mess was really disgusting, the food they provide is very tasteless. But yeah they keep the canteen very clean and decorated. Overall is canteen not that bad. Registration of hostel is done while admission only and it's very affordable. Like at low cost you get a nice room. These rooms are three seated, I mean three people are there in each room. All the years are divided by blocks. As Burdwan is a small town, I would suggest not to go to a pg for girls, as it will be not safe. And the hostel is very near to college just 2 minutes away. It's very helpful while you have bunks which are very common here, so u can come to your room and take a rest and have some snacks. If your hometown is Burdwan then it's good. I mean you can up and down by your home itself.

Despite the low fee structure, my college provides a good placements. Almost every student of CSE Dept who sit for placement, gets the placement between 4lpa - 6lpa. Last year the highest package was ?12 lpa. ECE department has the lowest percentage of placements. And other engineering departments have between 60-70% placement. All the mentioned above is the description of in campus placement. Not many students of my college opt for out campus. But if they do, they get good placements as per the reports. In 2021 a student secured the job in Microsoft, with the placement of ?45 lpa (out campus).
