Remarks

The college has a High Rank, excellent reputation and is located in a Good City with a high exposure. Its close proximity to home also was a factor for me. I got in using the Direct Admission for Students Abroad (DASA) Scheme. PEC also has a 100% placement record for CSE students, with a high average CTC.

Course Curriculum Overview

The CSE faculty is a young group of professors who are modern in their approach and very helpful. The curriculum focuses on your specialization from year 1 itself, which helps a lot compared to other colleges.

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 400000 per year

Placement Experience

PEC in CSE offers 100% placement. companies ranging from tech giants, banks and consultancy firms to Startups visit the campus. All students can sit for placements basis their CGPA and a preliminary test.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is similar to most government colleges. I was awarded the CIWG scolarhip within the DASA Scheme, which significantly reduced my tuition fee. They also offer many other scholarships for rank openers.

Campus Life

PEC hosts numerous Clubs and societies. I was a member of the Speakers Association and Study Circle (SAASC). Clubs like Drams and SAASC really mold your personality and help you develop beyond just an engineer

PEC - History and optimism

Likes

The campus is over 100 years old and has strong alumini network.
Placements are good as per my rank in JEE
Peer group is good and there are diversed people all around

Dislikes

Infrastructure is really old; but then again legacy comes at a cost.
Campus is smaller as compared to NITs and IITs ; so is the funding
Its still not an institute of national importance. Has no nation wide recognition

Placement Experience:

Since the first batch of VLSI is yet to be placed I would take example of ECE for reference. Out of 110 students which sat for placements , 91 got placed , median of 13 lakh with avergae of 16 lakh and 61 lakh highest on campus. These are of 24-25 and this year placements are better as even apple visited us after an hiatus of 3 years. In core electronics , Samsung Rnd , TATA electronics , Cadence , Micron etc visited for tech , UKG , PhonePay , Oracle , Accenture etc vist in consulting and finance , Mckinsey , JP Morgan , GoldmanSachs , AmericanExpress visit. After my btech I plan to do a job.

Syllabus is good, it is very versatile and updated according to the industry standards
The University also has a good events and also a good night life
The infrastructure is very modern with unique outlets to eat in

Dislikes

There is a uniform system which is very bad according to university
Very strict rules regarding in and out of the University
The outlets in university are quite expensive

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course plan around 7 out of 10 in terms of relevance and depth. I chose this course mainly because it includes core tech subj like DSA, DBMS, OS, AI and cloud, which are useful for jobs in tech field. The presence of lab work and proj based learning also influenced my choice. The curriculum gives a fair base in theory and basic prac skills. It helps in campus place prep and also builds base for higher study like MTech or MS. But real world skill still depends a lot on self study, online course and side proj. Some topics feel updated, but a few subj are still too theory heavy and not linked to real case use. Exams are held twice as mid test and once as end term in each sem. There are also quiz, viva and lab eval. The level is moderate. If you attend class and revise notes, it is manageable. For improve, more live proj, hack event, ind visit and case study should be added. Teach method should shift more to code demo and less slide read

Attendance strictness is there so you have to be carefull
Rigid marking scheme so studying is constantly important

The course is relevant and provides vast legal knowledge covering various course sources by creating a compilation of various sources into one. The curriculum prepares you to be pre prepared when doing a task to master it and frequent exams in different forms happen

Likes

Good facilities, really teaches student and give individual attention in class too
Good infrastructure , as it was just built in 2021, the infrastructure is top notch and no complaints about it.
Papers are being checked anonymously, one’s paper can be checked by any teacher in any campus, so no chance of partiality

Dislikes

80% strict attendance criteria other they would not allow to sit in exam
Passing criteria is 40% and grading system is also bery difficult, two D grade is 1 F and more than 2F could lead to year repeat year, not even semster
Alot of assigments, really hectic at times

Placement Experience:

We have avergae package of 12 lpa and 57lpa highest, i am not aware of how mqny placed. As such i have plan to get placed but if things didnt go out as planed then mba or mtech maybe. Our campus just opened recently so there is no much information but our placements are central that means, companies visting mumbai have to visit us too, and u can refer mumbai campus placement for our campus because its counted on central level and not varries campus to campus

Remarks:

There are very limited art college in india and GCA Chandigarh is 1 of them. I opted for printmaking because I wanted to explore different mediums of expression. The college is well equipped with faculty experienced in their own particular mediums aswell as exploring new mediums. You will get the freedom to build you creativity.

everything is exellent about the college from faculty o infrastructure but yes i would like to say since i m one f the earliest batches of bsc nursing course so shifting of classes and teachers keep on going which is a little difficult to adjust.

I chose this college over other colleges because of the placements. No matter how outdated their curriculum is but this college gives good placements. At my rank this was the best college which was giving an average of package of 12LPA from Production and Industrial Engg. I also wanted to live in a good city so I chose this college. If we talk about the admission process of this college, you have to first appear in JEE Mains. Then you have to apply in JOSAA Counselling. There are 6 rounds in JOSAA in which seat is alloted to the students who have got better ranks. Imo if you are a general category student then you have to score above 96 percentile to get in Production of PEC. If you dont get any seat in JOSAA then there is CSAB also. PEC - History and optimism

I was getting electrical engineering at NIT surat and CSE cyber security at NIT patna I choose PEC VLSI as I was interested in Electronics and PEC was a better college than the other two options.I got rejected from DTU EE as I didnt have the required rank to get there as a general male other state applicant.
