Remarks

The college has a good campus life. It works towards the overall development of the students. It also manages to uplift the students socially and economically. It is one of the reputed colleges in the punjab.

Course Curriculum Overview

It?s an undergraduate course for three years. The course is structured in a systematic manner considering all the aspects of Arts field. It shapes the student?s career by providing knowledge in different subjects.

Placement Experience

I am still in the second year of my college so I don?t have much idea about the placement. As heard from the seniors, the placement procedure is flexible and well planned. There are job opportunities available after graduating from the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is apparently inexpensive as compared to other colleges in punjab. It costs upto Rs. 74,570 for the three year course. It can be paid semester wise which doesn?t cause the burden of payment at once.

Campus Life

The college holds a good record for sports. There are students who have represented the college at national level in various sports. There are cultural activities that takes place occasionally for the students.

Alumni/Alumna

The college holds a good connection with it?s alumni network. They visit the college at special events. Even the seniors are good and they?re very helpful. They are friendly and never trouble us. We all enjoy their company.

Admission

The college conducts the admission test which is PU USOL admission test. It comprises of four sections namely data interpretation, general english, verbal ability and numeric ability. Once I qualified the exam, I went for counselling and got my documents verified. Finally I got enrolled in the college.

Faculty

The faculty?s work is satisfactory and they create positive impact in our lives. They are well qualified and conducts the class regularly. They have been working in the college for many years and thus possess a lot of experience.

PEC - History and optimism

Likes

The campus is over 100 years old and has strong alumini network.
Placements are good as per my rank in JEE
Peer group is good and there are diversed people all around

Dislikes

Infrastructure is really old; but then again legacy comes at a cost.
Campus is smaller as compared to NITs and IITs ; so is the funding
Its still not an institute of national importance. Has no nation wide recognition

Placement Experience:

Since the first batch of VLSI is yet to be placed I would take example of ECE for reference. Out of 110 students which sat for placements , 91 got placed , median of 13 lakh with avergae of 16 lakh and 61 lakh highest on campus. These are of 24-25 and this year placements are better as even apple visited us after an hiatus of 3 years. In core electronics , Samsung Rnd , TATA electronics , Cadence , Micron etc visited for tech , UKG , PhonePay , Oracle , Accenture etc vist in consulting and finance , Mckinsey , JP Morgan , GoldmanSachs , AmericanExpress visit. After my btech I plan to do a job.

Syllabus is good, it is very versatile and updated according to the industry standards
The University also has a good events and also a good night life
The infrastructure is very modern with unique outlets to eat in

Dislikes

There is a uniform system which is very bad according to university
Very strict rules regarding in and out of the University
The outlets in university are quite expensive

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course plan around 7 out of 10 in terms of relevance and depth. I chose this course mainly because it includes core tech subj like DSA, DBMS, OS, AI and cloud, which are useful for jobs in tech field. The presence of lab work and proj based learning also influenced my choice. The curriculum gives a fair base in theory and basic prac skills. It helps in campus place prep and also builds base for higher study like MTech or MS. But real world skill still depends a lot on self study, online course and side proj. Some topics feel updated, but a few subj are still too theory heavy and not linked to real case use. Exams are held twice as mid test and once as end term in each sem. There are also quiz, viva and lab eval. The level is moderate. If you attend class and revise notes, it is manageable. For improve, more live proj, hack event, ind visit and case study should be added. Teach method should shift more to code demo and less slide read

Good facilities, really teaches student and give individual attention in class too
Good infrastructure , as it was just built in 2021, the infrastructure is top notch and no complaints about it.
Papers are being checked anonymously, one’s paper can be checked by any teacher in any campus, so no chance of partiality

Dislikes

80% strict attendance criteria other they would not allow to sit in exam
Passing criteria is 40% and grading system is also bery difficult, two D grade is 1 F and more than 2F could lead to year repeat year, not even semster
Alot of assigments, really hectic at times

Placement Experience:

We have avergae package of 12 lpa and 57lpa highest, i am not aware of how mqny placed. As such i have plan to get placed but if things didnt go out as planed then mba or mtech maybe. Our campus just opened recently so there is no much information but our placements are central that means, companies visting mumbai have to visit us too, and u can refer mumbai campus placement for our campus because its counted on central level and not varries campus to campus

Remarks:

There are very limited art college in india and GCA Chandigarh is 1 of them. I opted for printmaking because I wanted to explore different mediums of expression. The college is well equipped with faculty experienced in their own particular mediums aswell as exploring new mediums. You will get the freedom to build you creativity.

Good to go for this University

Since I am pursuing my BCom from us. So getting admission is quite easy you need not pass any entrance test and the admission process is totally online the minimum criteria to get admission for the BCom is 45% in your 12th examination. All the queries related to the examination whether it's application fees application form application dates can be found on the official website of USOL. Yes, there are reservation benefits Since I am from the general category I did not get that benefit but if you are the one who is from another category rather than general you can get a discount for the minimum fees. Honest review of USOL panjab university

I'm studying in 2nd year of BA in USOL and I can tell you the good and bad things about USOL then, Good:- this is an open university so you can study for any government exams like UPSC SSC and many more. The USOL gives you one-week offline classes for covering the syllabus and you can easily pass in your course. BAD:- I think there are not any bad things in this institute. Admission process:- There's an official website of the USOL for admission. You can easily register on there and fill the admission form and take admission. After that, you can do your payment online or post office and bank draft after your payment you need to go the university for face to face verification then you got admission in this open university.
