Remarks

I had applied for IEM, Kolkata as it is the best private engineering college in West Bengal. The admission criteria were Btech is to have a decent score in Jee Mains as well as 12th boards. The minimum mark is 75% in class 12 to get into IEM. There is no such minimum age but a person should be around 18 years while applying for btech, should not have any year gap after 12. The admission process was very smooth, the staff concerned with admission were extremely helpful and everything was well organized. I am very happy with my decision to study at IEM since it instills discipline and hard work in us. We are surrounded by great minds and our faculties are very skilled. I would recommend IEM to everyone.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose Computer Science Engineering as the course is in much demand and there are multiple opportunities after pursuing this course. IEM provides subjects like AI, Deep Learning , Machine Learning so that we can cope with the advancements of technology and get lucrative jobs. Faculty student ratio is satisfactory. All the students are guided as much as possible. The faculties are very well qualified and are very knowledgeable. We had exams quite often, especially during pandemic, so that students don't deviate from their focus and hence our study habits were retained. The questions are set by our college and if students are attending the classes properly and taking down notes, then the exams can be passed with flying colours.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are several scholarships that our college provide to deserving students. Our college also provides financial aid to students belonging to backward classes, specially abled students. Our college has also waived off the fees for those students who have lost one of their parents in covid. Our college provides alot of opportuinites.

Campus Life

We have IEMPACT fest, which is an annual cultural fest of IEM. Then we have our Smart Maker Festival. The library is open for students 24*7. All the books that we require are easily found in the library. The librarian is very helpful. The library is well organized and contains everything that the student requires. We have Marathons, Cyclothon, sports day. We used to have regular PT classes where we did yogas, karate, gymming and different kinds of exercises. We have different student chapters like Google Developer Student Club, CSI, ACM, IEEE, and many more.

Should I Choose IEM.

Placement Experience:

Eligibility for placement is from 3rd year,with tier 1 companies visiting like Google, Amazon along with mass requiters like TCS, Capgemini, Wipro etc.Last year heights placement package was 72LPA offered to 15 students and average was 2-3 LPA.

Okay college and decent placement

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is same as all low 3 tier colleges which is nearly 4-5 lpa average salary given by mass recuitor companies .The companies are infosys , ltimindtree , accenture , ibm , capgemini , cognigent , etc .The placement rate is nearly 60 to 70 percent.

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for campus placements from third year that is after 5th semester. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant and IBM are amongst the mass hirers. Almosy 80 percent of the students get placed every year and the top 10 percent of the students receive high paying job offers. The average package is around 4.86 LPA and in 2023, the highest package was 16 LPA and in 2022, the highest package was 44 LPA. Talking about my future plans, I wish to pursue my masters abroad after completing my undergraduate course here.

Placement Experience:

Despite the low fee structure, my college provides a good placements. Almost every student of CSE Dept who sit for placement, gets the placement between 4lpa - 6lpa. Last year the highest package was ?12 lpa. ECE department has the lowest percentage of placements. And other engineering departments have between 60-70% placement. All the mentioned above is the description of in campus placement. Not many students of my college opt for out campus. But if they do, they get good placements as per the reports. In 2021 a student secured the job in Microsoft, with the placement of ?45 lpa (out campus).

So I take admission through WBJEE in IEM KOLKATA in B.tech in electrical engineering. So now I talked about eligibility criteria:- You should pass your +2 from any board with a maximum of 60% Admission in this college is 3 types WBJEE, JEE MAIN, IEMJEE all three forms you will get notified by college dunia if you have an account in it. So the IEM KOLKATA is one of the best private colleges in Kolkata and you can say in India also so the cuttoff goes very high you have to get minimum rank for this college. Review of My IEM University

When I was searching for the best college to get the admission, some people told me to try for Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM) and after I got admitted to this college, I really understood that I selected the right college. I will always prefer this college because discipline is strictly obeyed in IEM and all the teachers are like parents. In 2019, admission was going on offline and it was held around the month of July. This year, due to covid pandemic, the admission process was held around the month of October and from 2nd November, online education started for the first year batch. According to me, the one and only bad aspect is that every semester, Rs. 65,000 is to be paid by each and every student to continue with their education which is quite high according to me.
