Remarks
I applied for my Bachelors in English Literature at PGDAV College (University of Delhi). The admission process was quite smooth. There were teachers and staff assigned for the students present at the college to enroll themselves in various courses who helped us with the course and fee structure, filling forms and other required formalities. When i applied for my undergraduate course back in 2012, that time the cut off was high around 95% in first cut-off. Overall admission process was hassle free and i had great experience studying there as the Faculty was really amazing.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the course as i was interested in classic and modern literature. I was very keen to explore the various aspects of literature. Our faculty was of around 10 members and there were nearly 40-45 students in my class. The faculty was amazing and cool. Teaching methods were really good and interesting. Literature wasn't easy or difficult. It all depended on the interest one had in reading novels, poems and backgrounds. It was a semester based programme with assignments and class tests in between every semester.
Placement Experience
5th And 6Th semester students were eligible for the placements and there was a dedicated placement cell in the college. Companies like Dell, Hp, Tcs and many more visited the college. Placements percentage at that time was around 45-50%.
Fees and Financial Aid
Back in 2012, the yearly fees was around 12-14k. There were quotas like sc, st and obc and also sports quota who had benefits of financial assistance. Being in General category, i couldn't redeem any such benefit though.
Campus Life
Campus life was fun. There were alot of food eating points nearby and as lajpat nagar was very near to the college, it was a boon for all the shopaholics. There were many cultural activities that were been carried on throughout the year, with the amazing cultural festival every year in the february. There were specific cultural groups like of Arts, Theatre, Dance and Music. Classrooms and infrastructure was all fine not that great also. The library was huge and mostly had all the books and novels that we required.
