Remarks

I applied for Delhi University and IP university in Delhi. But I got selected in Delhi University which of course has a higher rank as well as a reputation, so I didn't get in IPU. When I talk about cut-offs at Delhi University, they were pretty much high. In the first cut-off, Ramanujan College was an option for me but I thought I can get many other options in North Campus as well. So, I delayed my admission. In 2nd cutoff, I took admission to Kalindi college as I thought at least I should reserve a seat for myself. When I started attending Kalindi college, I wasn't that much impressed with its environment and teachers. So, started looking for more colleges, and finally, in the 7th cut-off, I got admission to Aryabhatta College. The admission process was quite easy as we just have to take our mark sheets and other documents to college for verification. If everything is satisfied on their part, then you will get admission easily.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

As we all know the magnificence and grandeur of Economics honors, the course is much above what I imagined. This course was my first preference as I loved economics and maths during my school years. The faculty of Aryabhatta college is extremely professional and well trained. Every teacher is either a Ph.D. or pursuing a Ph.D. The teachers are actually worried for their students and they continuously push them in every possible way. Not only projects and assignments but we are always indulged in discussions about current affairs and what would be best practice. The student-faculty ratio is like 150:15 in the whole economics department (including all years). In a pre covid situation, the offline exams were held in December, and the difficulty level was good enough but if you study well, then you can pass them. After covid, the situation changed and we have to give online exams, which were more or less based on analytics and internal assignments.

Internships Opportunities

0.5

I didn't get any internships from college. I did 7-8 internships which I have found on my own through other apps such as Internshala, Linked In, etc. But I know some companies which offered internships in our college such as zomato, chegg, writtenly hub., etc.

Placement Experience

3

Placements are not that much good as I thought. The placement cell provides several internship opportunities for students of all years but job opportunities after completing the degree are less. The highest package might be 5-6 lakhs. 4-5 students get placed in every opportunity offered. After getting this degree, I will be pursuing my master's degree in M.A. (economics).

Fees and Financial Aid

My course is pretty much economical or cheap as I can say. When I took admission in Kalindi in Eco Hons, my fees were 8000 per year. In Aryabhatta college, it is 13000 per year for the same course. So, as you know this amount is quite low and It was easy to afford. I did some internships and I earned more than 8 times this amount. So, there was no need for any scholarship for me.

Campus Life

4.5

I attended offline college for about 8 months and that time was quite confusing for me as they were my initial months in some new institution. But fests and the college environment were pretty much satisfying. The crowd in this college was also upper class. Classrooms are first class with new infrastructure. There are so many societies actively working towards the development of people. I am also part of three societies at present. Many societies also have websites. I am sharing the links as well. www.ficaryabhatta.com, www.theecell.in

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
