Remarks

DU, Ambedkar University, I didn't attend both the colleges because they were far away from my home and I wanted to Pursue Applied Psychology which was only available in DU but their faculty was not as good as JMI's and they didn't have mandatory Internships for all the students. Availed the Muslim minority quota in JMI as it is a Minority university. The minimum marks required in bachelors to apply for this course is 55% and there's an entrance test that everyone has to clear in order to get in. The admission process was pretty smooth as I completed it in 45 minutes, we had to take all the necessary documents required (mentioned in the prospectus) to the admission office where they provided us with a few more forms to fill and an admission slip to pay the fees in nearby Bank which is on walkable distance from the faculty and department.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

I opted for this program as I wanted to pursue my career in Psychology. The campus is enormous and the department itself is great as well in terms of its structure. it's not too big not too small. The student ratio is around 50 students for Bachelor's (Per Year) and 40 Students in each batch of Masters. The faculty is quite Qualified as most of the teaching members are research scholars and PhD holders. The teaching method is above average as most of the teachers are quite qualified. The termly exams are held timely and it's neither too easy nor way too difficult to pass for most of the subjects.

Internships Opportunities

1

Most of the Internships in the field of psychology aren't paid in general so the faculty has a hard time searching for internships with a stipend. Although many organisations have paired with the university to provide internships the only one consisting of a stipend which was a full-time job was an offer from Chegg India in the field of Psychology.

Placement Experience

1.5

The placement regarding this particular course is average, there isn't much work being done in the area of placement by the department and faculty at the moment, although there are placement melas organised by the University on the University level by when it comes to placement regarding the field of psychology more work needs to be done.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have completed my bachelors from the same university and the fee hike isn't too noticeable. The fees for most of the courses have been constant in the past few years. There are a lot of scholarships that are provided to students although I haven't opted for one so I can't provide the details for it. I haven't come across any job on campus for my particular course that provides a stipend to the students.

Campus Life

4

There are a lot of fests organised by different faculties and departments each year. The campus consists of 2 Huge libraries situated in the main campus. The Nawab Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi sports complex has room for various sports and extracurricular activities such as Cricket, Basketball, Tennis etc as well as changing rooms. There is a number of clubs for students such as Literary and Debate Club, Dance Club, Music Club, Drama Club etc.

Other Applied Colleges

Delhi University | MA Psychology and MA Applied Psychology

The college was far away, No mandatory desertation for all the students pursuing masters

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have always held that the training I recieved during my masters programme prepared the grounds for my future development. The teaching pedagogy was centres around participation and a two way dialogue. I am not in the capacity to be suggesting improvements in curriculum as my stint in the university was almost perfect- more than I could have ever asked for.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well designed by the renowned professors and faculty members from different universities in India and from abroad as well. The content was choosen keeping in mind to cover all the aspects of the specific subject for a pg student. As I mentioned before, the quality of study material was very good and helpful and very enough. But the pg thesis is missing from our course, due to which we were not able to do a research project. It appears to me after the completion of my first year that we can do our research under our given faculty but it wasn't mentioned in the course structure as it is mainly upto our faculties.

Course Curriculum Overview:

For the course i must say that this is something everyone needs to study about even if it's for just a part. We have ethics, moral, cultural relativism and etc. In our syllabus and it all really help to make our thinking rational, to see World from that point of view from where one can see the clarity. It's really necessary for improvement in personality and making good decision. I think there's need for making this course more practical like teaching, we can teach students about essentials of philosophy for there betterment of decision making from an early age.
