Remarks

I have applied to few colleges like Narula Institute of Technology and GNIT but finally, I decided to join Brainware University, as I heard about its good laboratory facilities and placement records. I haven't availed of any quota for admission. To get admission in B. Tech in CSE above 55 percent marks in 12th in the aggregate are required including Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. One can get admission through WBJEE or JEE Mains. A short admission test and counselling were done before the admission and the overall course structure was described through a student induction program.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

After my 10th I was very much interested in Computer Science and programming and was looking for a course like this and finally, after my 12th I came to know about the course and its future scopes, so I chose this course for my career. The quality and quantity of the faculty are overall good, about 1 faculty per 20 students are there in this university. The faculties have a minimum qualification of Masters degree and many of them have also pursued PhD as well and they are well experienced in academics. The term exams are taken timely. Even in this pandemic situation, we have to pass 2 internal exams and presentations before the semester exam.

Internships Opportunities

4

Various companies like Webstick, Adobe, DCPL offered internships in previous years. We have come to know about real-life job experiences after visiting the internship programs. Various mini projects are done through the entire course and at least one major project is done at the end semester.

Placement Experience

4

The students become eligible for campus placements after 6th-semester. I don't know much about the packages but came to know from my seniors that companies like TCS, CTS, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, IBM, etc visited our college for on-campus placements, and about 85 percent of students of the final year got placed in different companies with an average package of 3.5 LPA. My plan after getting the degree is to appear and try to crack interviews in a reputed company and get placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fees required for the course were Rs-349000 when I got admission and we have to pay the fees semester-wise. I have got the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship after taking admission to this college, as my marks in 12th were above 75%. Also, there was financial assistance from the university for the students who have marks above 75% in 12th. I am currently studying in 2nd year so still, I haven't got any job on campus.

Campus Life

4.5

Every year an annual fest named "Anandadhara" is organized in the month of April, and the tech fest named "Texibition" is organized in March. Though due to the pandemic situation these two fests are conducted in online mode last year. The library facilities are extremely good in this university. There are 3 libraries in total, Central Library, Pharma Library, and law library. The collection of textbooks, reference books, and international journals are really good. The classrooms are clean, well lighted, and airy, in each classroom, there are CCTVs cameras. Every year an annual sports event is organized in January. Also, we have taken part in various activities like tree plantation, Save Earth campaign, Talent Hunt, etc throughout the year. There are Tech Club, Communication Club, and Photography Club in our university.

Interview Experience

4.5

A short test was taken at the time of admission and there were basic questions on Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and English. The questions were relevant to my 12th syllabus and I easily completed this round with minimum preparation.

Placement Experience:

Despite the low fee structure, my college provides a good placements. Almost every student of CSE Dept who sit for placement, gets the placement between 4lpa - 6lpa. Last year the highest package was ?12 lpa. ECE department has the lowest percentage of placements. And other engineering departments have between 60-70% placement. All the mentioned above is the description of in campus placement. Not many students of my college opt for out campus. But if they do, they get good placements as per the reports. In 2021 a student secured the job in Microsoft, with the placement of ?45 lpa (out campus).

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am a student of Computer Science Engineering and the curriculum prepares students of all branches for inter disciplinary courses, so that all branches have a basic idea of all branches of engineering in general. The curriculum stresses a lot on communication, social and personality development. There are regular lab classes and weekly assignments and tests to keep track of a student's progress. There are lots of extra and co curricular activities which enhance and add to the experience of a college student. The college follows the MAR point system proposed by MAKAUT, which includes and promotes a huge variety of this activities. In addition to this, the college has many clubs, the students of which participate actively in social activities like blood donation drive, marathon, cloth donation, self defence drive etc.

The placement of the college is average. During my time Cognizant and Infosys use to visit the campus and they hired many students. The ctc offered by the company was around Rs 3.5 lakhs per annum. Those who are unplaced need to apply off campus to other companies.
