Remarks

I applied for Bharati college and Maharaja Agrasen College and got selected in both. But I chose Maharaja Agrasen College because its infrastructure is far better than Bharati and Agrasen is co-ed and as I opted for journalism I thought it would be better exposure in co-ed. I got Maharaja Agrasen in the 5th cut off. The admission process was a little hectic as you have to stand in lines waiting but all DU colleges follow the same process.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose Journalism because I had an interest in writing and one more reason is I wanted to pursue acting so Journalism was a backup option. Some of the faculty members are good, they provide you with feedback on your work, give you many options on what you can do. The faculty members were all qualified with some having degrees from Jamia Milia and PhD. The teaching method I would say can be improved. Exams were always on time but due to covid it went disorganised but that's okay.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

As I am in Journalism many internship opportunities come. Teachers themselves encourage students to do it. In 1st year we went in many debates of news channel like NDTV, ABP etc. But due to COVID, it wouldn't be possible but the faculty tries that the good writers, journalists and many others come for webinars.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are low. Only 15000 for 1 year and examination fee approx 900-1000. It is actually affordable considering the course and the college. I didn't have any scholarship or any financial assistance from the college.

Campus Life

4

College life is amazing. You got to attend many fests of DU. There are many societies in which you can be a part through auditions. At the time of the fest, there are many competitions organised and so on. There are many things you can do. The library is good. It's spacious with Ac and you could do your work there.

Other Applied Colleges

Bharati College | B.A.(Hons.) Journalism

The infrastructure of this college was really bad. No proper benches and tables. Moreover this was

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.
