Remarks

I had applied for 3-4 colleges but didn't join because of the ambience of those institutions. No, I haven't availed any quota. The admission criteria wasn't a hassle as the minimum marks required were 60% and a PI was taken at the institute. The process was very smooth and less troublesome.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I choose this course as it was what I wanted to do since I had opted for commerce during my +2. The faculty at the institute are very cooperative and supportive towards all students. They are there as a guide as well as a friend for all students no matter which field they are from. All teachers are well qualified as per their field of teaching and no doubt provide great knowledge to the students The exams were held every two months in the form of class tests and a final semester exam twice a year. The level of difficulty wasn't very tough but at the same time, it wasn't too easy. It was a well balanced mixture of easy, medium and hard level questions.

Internships Opportunities

5

There were companies which offered students with internship along with a good stipend. Since I was in the field of commerce and management most of the offers were from sales related and BPo. With a specific target offered to the students which were to be completed within the stipulated time frame. As per the performance the stipend amount was provided.

Placement Experience

5

After students complete their 4th semester they are eligible to appear for the campus drives. Students with no backlog in any previous semesters and with a good percentage aggregate have a better chance overall. There were many companies who visited the institute and were all renowned ones like TCS, Cognizant, Bijyus, British telecom, etc. The offers made were no huge but it was only because they wanted to hire the best among the crowd The packages offered were reasonable as per the requirement of a bachelor degree student. With an average monthly of 20000-25000 and sometimes with a huge margin of 60000-80000 per month packages were offered by the companies The percentage of students who were getting placed was beyond expectations as many were selected and offered good jobs at MNCs. Even I had been in some campus drives with the main objective to get a view of how a corporate interview might sound and be. But since I had plans of studying further so hence I opted out of the process.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees aren't very high in comparison to other private institutions. Quiet an affordable price for every course The scholarship was given on the basis of the marks obtained by the students in their +2. Students with 60%-70% were given 10000 scholarship and as per the marks increase the amount would be higher By the end of the 4th semester students were allowed to participate in campus drives at the university with some well reputed firms.

Campus Life

5

The annual fest is held in April every year and a tech fest just the month before the annual fest The library is well equipped with all the necessary books required by the students irrespective of the course. The smart class method is followed in the classroom with the help of smart boards. Sports and extracurricular activities were given equal preference as studies. An annual sports day is organised for students along with a week full of various events held just a few days before the main event day.

Interview Experience

5

Some basic questions testing the speaking skills, subject knowledge of the student applying for the desired course. Checking on whether the student will be able to cope up with the curriculum or not. There is no prior preparation required as the question asked by the admission faculty weren't difficult to answer for a normal 12th pass student.

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is of course outdated. Teaching methods are old. No case studies, competitions or project of any sort is there in the curriculum. Although a project of 100 marks is there in the final sem, but I don't think that's enough. There is no practicality in the curriculum and usability in career. The syllabus really needs an uplifment.
