XLRI - Dream College

XLRI is among one of the oldest brand names in India, decided to open a new campus with the same curriculum & professors, combined placements, combined SIPs. The admission process for both the campuses is the same, i.e. XAT exam, GD, and then interview. Considering the Jhajjar campus is near to the capital region, so it would be an attraction to many of the companies coming for placements. Upon considering the above factors, I gave preference to XLRI, Jhajjar.

There are two courses offered by XLRI, Business Management (BM) and Human Resource Management (HRM). The Jhajjar campus is started by offering BM to a total of 120 students, which later on, will increase. The XLRI, Jamshedpur has one of the best curriculum and professors. The same curriculum is also offered on the Jhajjar campus by the same professors. The total seats offered are BM - 180 (Jamshedpur), 120 (Jhajjar) and HRM - 180 (Jamshedpur). The entire batch is divided into sections of 60 students to maintain a good faculty-student ratio.

The internship opportunities offered at XLRI are quite good. All the students were offered internship offers despite the COVID scenario from the companies across all the domains. The major recruiters include Bain and Co., BCG, Accenture Strategy, ITC, Amazon, etc.

Many companies participate in the placements and SIPs process at XLRI, including FMCGs, Consulting, BFSI, marketing, etc. This year, despite the COVID scenario, the entire final placements were completed in two days with an average package of Rs. 25.08 Lakh from Rs. 24.4 Lakh in the previous year.

Total fees for the course at XLRI is 25 Lakh and it is justified because of the placements, quality teaching, and facilities offered. The fee structure of the college also includes the hostel fees, mess fees. The college also offers a scholarship for meritorious students and also, has corporate collaboration for the same. You also have an option to finance your fees from the banks also.

The campus life at XLRI is one of the amazing experiences that one will come across in one's life. There is a lot happening on the campus, each club is organizing one event or the other. "Ensemble-Valhalla" is XLRI's annual cultural, management and sports fest and is famous across the country. There are a lot of options available at the library. All the classrooms have world-class infrastructure.

There is single accommodation offered at all the hostels at XLRI and the rooms come with pre-attached basic amenities. The rooms are quite spacious and each comes with an attached balcony. The meals offered at the hostel are also quite good and there are a lot of options available at the mess. The campus also has a TT table, pool table, basketball court and a TV room. AC rooms are also offered at the hostel and all the facilities at the campus are taken care of by the student committee.

The process for admission at XLRI starts with Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT). There is a cutoff declared by the college at a certain percentile, above which the applicants become eligible for the next process. The next stage for admission is the group discussion (GD) which is then followed by the interview. The topics for the GD are general and the interview for the admission is quite grilling as XLRI wants the best applicants.
