- Diverse Curriculum, Healthy Environment and best of students makes this place best to learn and grow.
Dislikes
- Placements are still below the Chennai branch and once that happens that we take over, no one can find a single complain about the university.
Course Curriculum Overview
Our course has a mandate of doing 8 weeks of intenrships at a leading corporate and all this is provided by our college. So this gives us exposure and first hand knowledge of how industry works. Thus, I am happy that I have decided to pursue PGDM from here as along with bookish traits we leean live corporate traits as well.
Placement Experience
GLIM Placements start from the beginning of 2nd year as till then we are also done with our intenrships. Also, placements here are lesser than that of Chennai but still median of GLIM is around 15 lakhs which is much better than other B-Schools of NCR.
Fees and Financial Aid
GLIM has two branches one in Chennai and one in Gurgaon. Fees is 10 lakhs a year and since I am living in hostels the hostel fees is another 4 lakhs a year. So, in all I am paying around 15 lakhs a year as some project fees and admission fees was also there. My total cost of studying from GLIM would be 30 lakhs approx.
Campus Life
For academics our classes are held in A block and then for presentation and seminars and even the library and common study area are in Block B. So, it's a beautiful campus a little small but has everything which I couldn't have explored without staying at the residential campus or GLIM. From foundation day to convocation day and the best is our annual meet or the event called Samagmitra are the best events I have ever seen live.
Hostel Facilities
I live in a triple sharing room as in first year, double or single sharing options are not available. The fees is very high as it is 4 lakhs a year but rooms are good but again common washrooms. Food for sure is the best as otherwise I know how hostel food is.
Admission
Admission here are based on CAT score as 90 percentile is enough to secure admission here. Admission process is little consuming as CAT has to be given mandatorily or GLIM Test is also there but then it is also followed by GD & PI rounds. In all there are 550 seats at GLIM and 290 of which are in our campus.
Faculty
Our institute may be a new addition to Great Lakes expansion but faculties are old and not the ones who have second hand experience. They are all highly experienced and some of them even passed out from GLIM Chennai. However, to ensure that students get best knowledge many dilligent people are invited of various domains to make us understand business in a better way.
Interview Experience
Topics were based on history, business and startup as we were checked on how confidently we can present ourselves and how honest we are even if don't know the answer. So, we were judged on certain parameters and then finally were granted admission.
Night Life
Hostel timings are 9 pm and also dinner ends at 9.30 pm at the hostel, so firstly we hardly go out and even if we do we come back on time. Nearby there are mall and cyber City is the place if we plan a night out as it is opened till 4 am.
