Remarks

The college is best in every aspect, be it academics, be it faculty members or any other. The Anti Ragging program carried out is good for both the seniors and juniors. The only thing that's a little bad is the suffocating discipline.

Entrance Preview

I had taken three entrance examinations JEE-ADV, JEE-MAINS and WBJEE securing the ranks 9534, 60537 and 2106 respectively. I was not able to get into the NITs and IITs with my desired branch and since IEM is the best private college in West Bengal, so I opted for it.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The full course structure is designed by the university, MAKAUT. The subjects are vast enough but the faculty members help us to understand them easily. Moreover, some courses like Soft Skill Development Program, Employment Enhancement Skill, Language Labs and Yoga Classes are provided by the college.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, the college provides Internship by various companies like TCS, Wipro and others. But I being a first year student, am able to go through any of these now.

Placement Experience

5

The placement ratio is outstanding, i.e., approx 92% of the students secure a good job at reputed companies like TCS, GOOGLE, MICROSOFT, WIPRO, INFOSYS, HCL and many more. The average starting salary is approx 5-6 lakh per annum. Moreover, some students passed out from here have started their own start-up and gaining much more than expected.

College Events

4

IEM hosts many events and programs. Two major programs of them are INNOVACION and IEM-MUN. INNOVACION is a technical event where students from all over India come and participate with their unique ideas and inventions. IEM-MUN is another major three day event hosted by IEM which works on the basis of Model United Nations and discusses the various issues going on in the world. Students from various colleges participate here as delegates of various countries. Other than the above two, there are some cultural and management events and festivals which take place every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible as per of a private college. The students who opt for the academics only and not the hostel, the total amount sum up to 4,35,200 INR with some adjustments for a course of 4 years. The students who opt also the hostel have to pay a additional fee of 3,12,000 for availing the hostel facilities for 4 years.

Fees and Financial Aid

Loan facility is available for the students at the time of admission. Few banks set up their stalls at the college to provide loan at the time of admission to the necessary students. No scholarship is provided by the Institute by its side to the students.

Campus Life

4

The campus life is exciting and simple. Ragging is not practiced here so there is no fear of seniors among the Juniors. Like any other Institute, no of boys are much more than girls. Since discipline is very strict here, so there is no chance of any inequality in any aspect of gender, ethnicity, race, religion, politics or any other.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel facilities are good enough for a student to properly settle in. Students are given shared rooms to be shared by 2 students. The hostel provides all the facilities like proper accomodation, Wi-Fi and 24 hrs facility. Moreover, some students opt to stay at private cheap hostels and PGs that provide the same facilities at a lower price. The food here in the mess is good enough to eat but the taste is such that everything here tastes sweet. So its not mostly liked by students coming from other states.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are very helpful as they understand what problems the Juniors have to go through and they know which topics will be hard enough to get. Moreover, they along with the Juniors work for the progress of the Institute.

Exam Structure

The faculty members carry out tests from their side on a regular basis and the MAKAUT BOARD conducts the semester exams. The Institute itself conducts Mid-sem exams with tough questions so that the students perform well at the semesters. Talking about the labs, most of the lab part is easy and chilled out along with the smiling lab instructors.

Admission

When the counseling process of WBJEE started, I opted for CSE and IT in this college and I got CSE in the third round. When I went to the college, the college authorities verified my documents and rank, told me the fee structure and asked me to deposit the admission fee in the Institute's bank. That's how I got in this college.

Faculty

5

The faculty members are best at their subjects and take proper care that the students are able to understand the subject(s) properly. Most of the faculty members are strict and a sense of terror remains in presence of some teachers. But the knowledge of the teachers is something that's endless.

I read in CSE(AIML) AI ML perspective and couse curriculam inluenced me to admit in college. Teachers often make real-world applications gor any pariculatr topic. I think more practical based an implement based curriculam should be added rather than more theorital subs. Most case college is form 9am -5 pm Like (9-5 job) .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The university is MAKAUT so the curriculum is up to the mark. I liked Programming so I chose B.TECH in CSE. The curriculum is very basic in terms of practical world problem though they are building blocks, but you need to do the extra bit of work to qualify for the real world scenarios. I think more mandatory projects integrated with current set of skills would be a cherry on top. Exams are very frequent like every 3-4 months there is a semester exam and they are moderately difficult.
