Remarks
Positive aspects - great brand, strategic location advantage for the campus, record placements, accomplished faculty, optimum batch size, well-spread alumni network. Negative aspects - administration is not student-friendly and our voices are not heard, focus on academics could be more. Admission process, apply to the college, take CAT, get shortlisted for the process, 1st stage is written ability test which is if 15 minutes, it is immediately followed by a GD in a panel of around 8 people on the same topic, followed by PIs; Interview was centred around general awareness. Although I didn't use any forum to make my choice.
Course Curriculum Overview
It is the flagship course of the college and offers a great choice of subjects/electives and specializations. Teacher to student ratio is optimum. Nationally and internationally acclaimed full-time faculty are one of the strongest assets of MDI. The academic community brings extensive teaching, research, training and industry experience to offer comprehensive business education. The academic calendar is sacrosanct and everything happens as per the calendar, hence exams too are timely. Difficulty level is a little above average.
Internships Opportunities
Placement report can be referred to, for all the details. My internship was with HCCB and stipend was Rs 200000. HCCB recruits interns for Sales and Marketing roles and my stint was with the strategy and transformation department where I had to chalk out the strategy for retail water of Coca-Cola, that is Kinley.
Placement Experience
Every student gets placed, one may refer to the placement report for complete details on employers, roles and packages. Placements happen in 5th and 6th term. I aspire to get placed as I get my degree and explore opportunities in sales and marketing field.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are on a higher side and amount to a little more than Rs 2100000 for the flagship course. No financial assistance was asked for, yet to be placed. Did summer internship with Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages with a stipend of Rs 200000. Average Summer Package was around Rs 230000.
Campus Life
Multiple fests, Imperium (November) being the biggest, followed by Illumina (November). Classroom - projector, PC, whiteboard and blackboard, AC, sufficient lighting, amphitheatre style classroom. Extracurricular - football, badminton, lawn tennis, table tennis, pool and snooker, cricket, carrom, chess etc. More than 30 student clubs and committees working in every possible aspect like academics, relations, cultural etc.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities vary according to buildings, but most include a bed, a table and a chair, a cupboard and shelf. Meals are nutritious and great in terms of variety. Program is compulsorily residential so no separate procedure for a hostel.
Interview Experience
I have already discussed the entrance process. The topic for WAT and GD - Modi Care / PM Health Scheme (2019). I was guided appropriately by my coaching institute for each stage during the preparation, the material they provided was sufficient enough.
