Course Curriculum Overview
DU has one of the best curriculum in the country for most art courses including literature. And so it was decided for me! The course covered almost the entire length of english literature but could include a little bit more of Indian literature in Delhi. There will be a lot of feminism and marxism, among other things.
Internships Opportunities
No. If you are looking for an internship, you must look for it on your own. There is absolutely no support from college. But you can't expect so much from a government college.
Placement Experience
You have to work on your own to procure a placement that suits your aspirations. Especially so for the literature course. However you can apply at CPC for placement and you do stand a chance for placement if you must get a job. That is how it works for most colleges at DU.
Fee Structure And Facilities
DU college and pretty cheap, almost free. The tuItion fees was only 8000 rupees per year and that was it. You also had to pay examination fee every six months for the semester examinations which was about 500 rupees. So it was pretty basic. If you have a back paper, then you'd have to pay more than that, depending on the number of papers.
Fees and Financial Aid
No. None that I am aware of. They did give out prizes sometime to merit students and outstanding students, but that was barely anything to be counted as scholarship.
Campus Life
Campus life is great. Although it is placed in a residential area, being an off campus college, there are a few market areas around for hangout places. Locality has a few restaurants, street food, basic shops for stationaries , dry cleaners and everything you'd need.
Exam Structure
It was regular. Semester exams every six months. The syllabus once taught in a semester is not repeated in any other examination. Just the same pattern as every college in Delhi university. Three hour exam pattern, no labs, you could give back exams if you don't pass an exam. Exam fee of around 500 per semester was charged.
Admission
I cleared the cut off for the college, went to college on the admission day, cleared the formalities and secured the form. It was a lengthy process but well managed. You had to go to the office, collect your admission form, fill the form and submitted it with the necessary documents. After the documents were verified and you had to submit the fees.
Faculty
English department has a decent faculty with some really amazing teachers. I would not know much about other courses. Specifically Mr. Vinod Verma and Mrs. Mona Sinha, to name favourites. It was great reading and learning literature, picking up like I did, understanding it like I had never before. It was a great learning experience.
