Remarks

There are basically 4 to 5 reasons for which I took addmission. As it's a sister concern of IEM I had a clear notion that the quality of education and opportunities in any field would be enormous comparing to any other private college. The proximity of the college to the IT Hub and the much newer IT hubs coming up near to our University. The discipline thing which I really love the most, many of thing might think I am wrong college is only to enjoy and to get job but it's not I think that you should explore all the opportunity. Coming in time, exactly at 9:20 the gate closes and I remember I was once not allowed to enter as I was late by 5 minutes that day I was sad as I missed a lab that day but after that I never came late anywhere. The infrastructure thought it's under development to some extent but it's really great, class rooms are big enough, good water dispenser cold water too, washrooms are cleaned after every shift, WiFi in Library, books in library, the cafeteria is among the best. We don't have Air conditioned labs or class rooms but it's fine. No one is going to disturb you on what you do, be it a research or making a Car for SAE or anything, seniors are helpful, faculties are very very hard working.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is set by board of governors in which faculties are from IIEST Shibpur, Jadavpur University, Former Governor of States, Vice Chancellor Sir, Ex-students from IEM, who are Senior officials in MNCs, PSUs, Former IAS officers, and many more. Yes, we have great industry exposure not all students get to intern for All India Radio, ISRO, BSNL, DVC or many more but you have to try from yourself first no one is going to hand you any Internship or opportunities. Academics are quite good, we have a test after each and every class to check out attentiveness based on the score we get attendance. None the less during this entire lockdown period our semester examination were taken in full online format, not in MCQ or MSQ type. According to our roll number we have to join Google Meetings where around 20 students and 4 faculties were there and we have keep our camera and microphone on and the questions are different either jumpled so everyone gets seperate questions no matter to cheating and after writing the answer in A4 sheets we have to scan it through CamScanner ( not used by our University anymore our students had developed our Own) and upload the Answer sheet in Google Classroom. 3hours 10 Questions 7 marks each and believe me few of them were 15 marks type, but our University managed to conduct the final semester so smoothly no one had thought of it, few of them opposed at first but then also understood the situation. Our University also shifted the exam by one week as Amphan struck West Bengal and internet connectivity was not proper.

Internships Opportunities

I had done various Internship, Casio India, Marketing Expert stipend was around 2500 + a scientific calculator worth 1200 from Casio. Harvard Business Publication, it was an unpaid internship but I got an Letter of Recommendation from the Head of Project. Teacher2Students, France I did this internship in my first year it was a startup from France where I learnt about social media marketing, SEO, SEM. Stipend was 12 Euro around 1000 INR, it was really a great experience as it was my first Internship. Pathadisha, Ideation Technologies, Data analytics intern unpaid one but learned a lot.

Placement Experience

5

It's amazing and going great year after year with in 5 years we had achieved a lot and way to go. The placements are centralised and all students of any department can sit we have a dedicated Placement Cell who looks after the same, companies like TCS, Capgemini, Cognizant, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, DXC Technologies, NRI, Sankalp Semiconductors are which I remember.

College Events

4.5

Campus Life is quite hectic, we have very limited time for fun, but when we have fun we do it the most, our cultural fest Esctacia is one, do check out if you are not a student of our University. Technical fest Ureckon another major event. We have various International students Chapter like SPIE, OSA, IEEE, ACM, IETE, our University is part of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan and had adopted 5 villages and contribute towards its Development.

The students become eligible for campus placements from third year that is after 5th semester. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant and IBM are amongst the mass hirers. Almosy 80 percent of the students get placed every year and the top 10 percent of the students receive high paying job offers. The average package is around 4.86 LPA and in 2023, the highest package was 16 LPA and in 2022, the highest package was 44 LPA. Talking about my future plans, I wish to pursue my masters abroad after completing my undergraduate course here.

Placement Experience:

Despite the low fee structure, my college provides a good placements. Almost every student of CSE Dept who sit for placement, gets the placement between 4lpa - 6lpa. Last year the highest package was ?12 lpa. ECE department has the lowest percentage of placements. And other engineering departments have between 60-70% placement. All the mentioned above is the description of in campus placement. Not many students of my college opt for out campus. But if they do, they get good placements as per the reports. In 2021 a student secured the job in Microsoft, with the placement of ?45 lpa (out campus).
