Remarks

I always dreamt of going to Xaviers. It’s such a good college. One of the best in our state. Being a Xavierian opened quite a lot of doors in my career. It helped me shape who I am today. Extremely good environment and great teachers. Lots of co curricular activists.

Course Curriculum Overview

I already come from a background of Mass Communication so for me it was easy. The course was way more practical based. From presentations to film making, everything was included. I thoroughly enjoyed the course. We had authors, journalists as faculties.

Class Size: 35Course Fees: INR 50000 per year

Placement Experience

Well I didn’t sit for college placement as I wanted to move to a new city. But as far as I know, companies provide jobs within the city that is in Kolkata itself. Out of state placement doesn’t really happen.

College Events

St. Xavier’s College is a 160 years old institution with rich heritage and long tradition. The campus has an old school charm with chapels inside. Co curriculum is a big part of college life starting from all kinds of sports to dance/drama club. Our college also hosts one of the biggest college college fest in town called Xavotsav.

Campus Life

Our college didn’t exactly have the modern infrastructure like colleges these days do. But it was definitely self sufficient when it came to labs or any other kind of equipments required for practical demonstration or practice. Fields for different kinds of sports, indoor games room, very big old library with every book that you could imagine was available.

Placement Experience:

The students get eligible at 3rd year 6th sem. Though before that you can do internship or freelancing which will increase the weight of your profile. The percentage of student getting placement is around 60-70% and the average package is around 4-5lakhs per annum. The highest package got by a student previous year was around ?10lakhs per annum.

Remarks:

It’s one of the oldest Bschools in Kolkata. I love the infrastructure of the college. It’s known for its faculties and placement. I’ve known a lot of students from this college. I visited the college and the people were really professional and helpful.

Remarks:

I was attracted to this college based on both its academic reputation as well as knowing several others from my high school whom I respected attending here ahead of me. This college has lived up to its academic reputation and more. I have found opportunities for personal growth and development not only academically, but also to expand beyond classroom knowledge. Most of my professors in my major have real world experience outside of academia and it shows. The professor for the capstone class in my major was instrumental in guiding me to an internship this past summer which greatly expanded my professional experience.
