Remarks

I dreamt about mechanical engineering about a long time ago. Then I appeared in Wbjee and got a decent ranking to get a seat of mechanical engineering.As well as the city Berhampore is really lovable. One can not but love this city. The college environment is also very nice. So I loved to stay there.

Course Curriculum Overview

Namely there is a professor Pratip Dutta, a man of a kind. Secondly, the other faculty is pretty decent. I always loved the auomobile field to build contact on that particular sector. Ans that's helping me a lot. And yes the curriculum is also very good. I saw it beforehand just to make heure what's I'm going to study.

Internships Opportunities

Swami vivekananda merit cum means scholarship, a stipend of 60000 annual. Boards marks above 75%, family annual income below 2 lac, a government college

Placement Experience

Core companies are not visited a lot. But the placement of Textile Technology and CSE is preety decent.

College Events

There are a few magazines that are published with students' writing. We have An annual fest farewell for last year seniors, freshers for new arrivals. And other things like saraswati puja. Which is the most popular in berhampore

Fees and Financial Aid

Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Based scholarship, it provides an annually stipend of 60k. There are some other scholarships that are nice as well.

Campus Life

The campus is well equiped with traditional and modern labs, Library, gym, recreational room, a football and volleyball court, wifi enable and everything a person need to get a break from studies. The library has everything you need. As an engineer as well as a student and faculty.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facility is not available for 1st year students. So for 1 year etudents need to stay somewhere outside. By the way, the hostel facility is as good as the college campus. Has its own gym, playing ground, wifi equipped.

GO FOR IT!!

Course Curriculum Overview:

There are several prospects, especially peer-to-peer counseling, where you get a mentor. We call it mentor mentee program. So, there will be groups of students, and each group will have a mentor who helps you whenever you face any issues whether in real life or in your academic journey. They’re always there for you. There are also remedial classes, and extracurricular activities are included in the curriculum. You even get the freedom to choose what you want to pursue creatively, like joining poetry clubs and similar groups. Right now, I’m at Banaras University, and the curriculum here is really good. We have sessions on public speaking, how to conduct interviews, and many other practical skills. These are highly commendable because they help you in professional situations like the one I’m in now. However, I would say that teachers could be a bit more active with electronic tools like using PPT presentations or audio-visual methods instead long lecture sessions. As for exams, I wouldn’t say they’re too difficult because there are many weekly assessments and sessionals, which actually help you evaluate yourself better.

After 7th semester companies started coming and there is different criteria for different companies like some company have criteria for more then 8.5 cgpa will be able to seat only in their placement conducting it is totally based on company preferences. The placement cell of my college is very strong.From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements.There are around 50 companies visited in the college such as TCS,Intel. Microsft. Deloitte,etc.205 students are placed in TCS in year 2019. 415 students are placed in campus placement last year. Maximum CTC was 25 lacs/pa and average CTC was 5.5 lacs/pa previous year.After Jadhavpur University,the average CTC of the college is higher than IEM. Above 95% placements for IT,CSE and ECE students.There are around 55-60% placements in other department.My plans are doing some great things after getting the degree.
