Course Curriculum Overview

3

They teach with real life examples. The lectures aren't always book centric. They help you understand the concept clearly. The curriculum always tries to teach us how to implement our studies in real life preparing is for the real world .

Placement Experience

3

Government Colleges aren't known for getting 100% placement. The placement rate of IT and CSE students aren't that high and the average package is just about 6-7LPA. Which isn't much. So many students opt for Higher studies. Many prepare for exams in India like GATE and many also prepare for foreign exams like GRE and TOEFL. Many students also keep tracks with off campus interviews. So at the end for placement college doesn't matter much. The skills you acquire are mostly important

Fees and Financial Aid

Maximum fees for Btech in this college will be 100000 for 4 years of the course. Yearly for my course it's 25000. There is also many government scholarship you can apply for which can provide upto 2.4 lakh in 4years, which is very helpful for many students.

Campus Life

4

The campus life has been good. The campus isn't much flashy. The buildings are old since the college was established for more than a 100 years. The playing ground is good. The lecture theatres got that old vibe of British India. The student union organises different programs like texavision and all.

Admission

The rank went a lot higher than I expected so missed out on lot of colleges. But after coming here I don't regret joining this college. To be honest this is one of the most affordable college in West bengal where you get returns for this investment to the best

Faculty

4

So the faculty is really great and helps a lot. Labs have a lot of instruments which covers whatever you need to learn for the course. The teachers/professors have lots of experience with lots of accolades. They provide good guidance to the students. The course have total 8 semisters with every semester having a end semester exam . We also have continuous assesments throughout each semester which I cludes projects, technical reports and internal exams. The difficulty is there but not too high. It's average difficulty

Night Life

3

Beside the college there is another college and different old architects and the Ganges flow by its side. The cold air makes the college campus really lively. I don't lodge in the hostel so I don't have any idea about that. The locality seems safe enough for the students

Campus Placements starts after 6th semester and majorily mass recruiters visit the campus and there are more opportunities for the cor branchs as compared to the non core because of the presence of many industries in the nearby areas. For this year, 12lpa is the highest placement in Commvault but the total placement is only around 50-60%, so my plan is to try getting off campus opportunities by the end of my 3rd year

Course Curriculum Overview:

Personally i opted for electrical and electronics instead of the branch of my choice is because my scores were not enough to secure a seat in CSE. But EEE is pretty cool as well for those willing to grow in this branch. Our curriculum exposes us to the rapidly growing sectors in the industry and educates us of all we need to know about the course in depth. If you want to continue ahead in a research field, this Institute is the most supportive. The exam questions are also relevant enough and considering we only need to actually stress over end semesters, its fair enough per semester. It would be better if our professors removed the attendance criteria rest im fine with everything else
