Remarks

Research work and exposure. After B.Sc. if one didn't get any other government University or IIT and the person is highly influenced towards the Research then they must go for Thapar. Only if they are capable of paying high fees though there are many scholarships availed by the university every year. The environment there is very friendly. You can learn whatever you can and hostel life is too comforting out there. Usually students from the colleges (B.Sc.) didn't get much chances to explore but Thapar is one of that place one should go for.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is perfectly designed and all the facilities hold post doctorate degrees. Faculty is easily approachable and doubts of each and every student were cleared on the spot. Timings of the class are restricted but flexible and attendance criteria is strictly followed.

IAS-NASI fellowship for internship in IIT ROPAR for 2 months.

various cultural and technical events went on and on almost everyday throughout the year. The environment is quite boosting and happy all the time. FROSH right from the beginning to durga pooja and jagran. All the cultural diversities are well appreciated in the boundaries.

Campus Life

Thapar provides every facilities to there students from sports to various workshops everything is there Library is accessible and one can order any preferred book by the simple procedure. Wifi facilities are available 24/7 in hostels and campus as well.

Brief About NITJ

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placement in their final year (7th semester). only a few companies made no offers. I can recall only 1 name Nation with NAMO. highest package in Civil branch was 14LPA. Average is 6LPA. for all branches highest was 42LPA with average 12 LPA. placement % is 60-80 among all branches which is improving every year. I am planning for higher education.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course that is bsc in artificial intelligence and data science is quite demanding and I think this is the only field which is growing faster. Another reason for choosing this was I had huge interest in this field. But faculty,their teaching way and syllabus is too way less as compared to course. They focus more on their rather than the practical work but in this field practical work is more important than theory as theory plays no role in this field . They must reduce the number of mid sem exams conducted and focus more on making students better in practical work. After the starting of semester, just after 25 days when syllabus not even completed as the 1st unit.. they shout spreading the news of exams. We just got too busy in exams which make us feel distracted from our real work .

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course as I was interested in Robotics and my parents wanted me to take a core branch. The curriculum is not very relevant but some topics are good and related like modern welding technologies and manufacturing techniques. I think our college curriculum needs to be updated where more new world technologies like AR and VRs should be taught with advance robotics. Teaching methods used are classical I think professors should try to use smart classrooms to visualise the concept to make it better understandable. Exams are moderate level but I think our college needs to reduce exam frequency although we have time but due to exams nearly every month it doesn't feel good.
