Remarks

I chose amity because i got a 25% scholarship in my first year as i had secured 80% in 12th std. Also being a private university, Amity doesn't compromise with its education as they have a very strict curriculum for the students so students don't really need extra tuition to understand any topic. I chose to pursue Honors in Chemistry because i came to know from my acquaintances that the Chemistry department was the best among allied sciences.

Course Curriculum Overview

Our course syllabus is always updated with each semester keeping in mind all the important topics and knowledge a Chemistry Honors student must have at bachelors level. Also every semester a industrial/practical based subject is added to give students an insight for future scope in subject of chemistry like alternate sources of energy, industrial chemistry, corrosion, etc. We have a non-teaching credit course called NTCC wherein we are alloted individual faculties and we have to prepare a small review/report on the topic given by our respective guides. This course helps students to learn basics regarding field of research and how a research paper is written by proper citation,no plagiarism, and proper references so that it helps those students who wish to take up research jobs in future. We have a Summer Internship Programme in our 5th semester wherein we have to apply for internships in other institues, colleges or reserach labs and work under a external guide for 2 months. This programme helps the students to get exposure to various new techniques, information and gives them opportunity to think critically as well. All our faculties are very good at their work and always ready to hlep the students in all possible ways. Many have done their post doctorates from renowned foreign universities and Indian universities as well. Our Head of Department Dr. Soumik Roy is the best faculty for organic chemistry while Our Head of Institute Dr. Saumya Dasgupta is specialised in physical chemistry with a unique method of teaching. Any student who loves physical chemistry will like Saumya sir's teaching method.

Placement Experience

3

Being a newbie, Amity is yet to establish itself as a high package offering college. The first batch of B.Tech got placed in 2018 and almost 90% students were placed in various companies. Some chose to go for higher studies. Our college will improve with a much better graph in placing students in the long run.

College Events

3.5

The college hosts a number of fests and events whole year round. The biggest fest which is held in our college is called AMIPHORIA held in month of February. This fest goes on for 3 days with a number of different events like rock mania, fashion walks, singing, dances, culinary arts and the list goes on. Apart from that dance competetion, inter-Amity sports meet, celebrity performances,DJ nights, cultural events with the festival of Mahalaya being the most popular one in the college. There are international conferences held, national conferences, seminars, research meets, and many more. All students are free to participate in any event as they like.

Fees and Financial Aid

Amity provides scholarship to students who have secured 80% and above in their boards. As i had secured 80% in 12th, i got 25% scholarship for first year only. Scholarships vary for different Amity campuses. Students can visit the site amity.edu to know the scholarship details for each campus. Amity has tie-ups with almost all leading banks and students can avail loans from the banks. To know which campus has tie-ups with which bank, visit the college site amity.edu

Campus Life

As our campus was newly constructed in 2015, few facilities are yet to come up and are under construction. A indoor sports complex is underway which will consist of a basketball court, badminton court, gym, and many more facilties. The wifi speed is decent, students can browse youtube and stream anything without any trouble. Students need to register for wifi through amizone portal. The whole campus has a centralised ac in each classroom. The library is a big one and you can find almost all the necessary books there. Students can also borrow books from the library. Library has high speed internet in case anyone wants to do any kind of work and has a centralised A.C. Laboratories are decent and quite big enough. There are two labs for chemistry students.

Hostel Facilities

I haven't opted for hostels in Amity as i live in a sharing apartment. Students can apply for hostels at the time of admission. Hostel seat allotment is totally on first-cum-first-served basis. Also there are PG's near the college which students can easily avail within 15-20 min distance from college. The room rent for PG's starts from 4000-5000 and can go till 10000 depending upon facilities and luxuries.

Course Curriculum Overview:

h The course curriculum was on the key factory the influenced by decision to join this program it of her strong foundation core subject will also including activity emerging are which elegant with my career interest to curriculum was mandatory compassion balancing theory with practice through labs and mini projects however its relevance to Delaware adapts and could be improved so subject hold outs dated on leak industry integration technique methods were mostly lecture based and belief in protein more quasi and oxygen projectivity is learning outcomes Around 10 to 15 percent of students typically struggle to clear an odd two subjects especially in the second year The making scheme followed in 50s to 50 split between internal and external assignments which helps balance performance over all the curriculum leads Solid Academy foundation but need modernization to better prefer students for enabling industry demand and higher study

Placements depends on your skills Usually there is a compulsory internship at the end of 3rd year If you didnt get it via college you should do it from outside but its compulsory And at the end of 4th year you get placement. Placemeng isnt 100% . If you have the skill you will get placed thats the criteria.many people say you are in IIT your life is sorted .but that aint the reality

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The university is MAKAUT so the curriculum is up to the mark. I liked Programming so I chose B.TECH in CSE. The curriculum is very basic in terms of practical world problem though they are building blocks, but you need to do the extra bit of work to qualify for the real world scenarios. I think more mandatory projects integrated with current set of skills would be a cherry on top. Exams are very frequent like every 3-4 months there is a semester exam and they are moderately difficult.

Placement for IT streams is very good but not good for the core stream. Infrastructure and campus beauty are very good. Faculty are average. Canteens are slightly costly but foods are ok. Hostel and Transport facilities are available.
