Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum that influenced me to take this course is amount of biology that I have to study as I love biology and research. It pretty much prepared you well for the real world application or further academic pursuits. If the course didn't have some irrelevant subjects it would have been better. The frequency of timing for exam is ok and also the difficulty level is moderate.

Internships Opportunities

2

The companies that comes for internship offers are amazon, flipkart, Deloitte, Wipro, Accenture, TCS, ITC, Bosch, etc and the roles offered are data analysis , assistant of laboratory research, etc and the internships are not paid mostly.

Placement Experience

3

The placements of my college is considerably nice as there were approx 76% campus placement last year. From your 6th semester only you are eligible for campus placement. The companies visited are amazon, flipkart, cognizant, TCS ,etc. Highest package is 8-9 lpa and average package is 5 lpa . percentage of students getting placement is 76% . My plans after getting this degree is to do m.sc in biotechnology and also prepare for government jobs side by side.

Fees and Financial Aid

Total fees- 613000 1st and 2nd semester - 71000 3rd and 4th semester -725000 5th and 6th semester - 78500 7th and 8th semester - 82500 If you get 1,2 or 3 then you will get 100% scholarship in your next year and if you get 4,5 or 6 rank then you will get 50% scholarship in your next year . The fees of other batchmates are around 6- 15 lakhs in total .

Campus Life

5

Annual fest is held in last of February or first of March called Amiphoria. There is huge range of books and journals in libraries that you can access easily . The faculties use presentation for better understanding of the students. Their are many opportunities for sports also . You have different time set for playing some indoor games such as table tennis , swimming, basket ball , gym ,etc . The clubs over here are run by students and there are multiple clubs such as event club, fashion club , sculpture club, debate club, dance club, music club ,etc.

Admission

I chose this college over other colleges as this college is known for great biotechnology placements that it offers. This college is better than other colleges in comparison of faculty members, infrastructure and events.I couldn't make it to other colleges for my incompatibility as my score was a bit low in CUET exams . The admission process over here is really simple as you will get admission in the merit of your 12th boards result. I applied to DU, BHU, and many other colleges through CUET and I have got confirmed admission from BHU and other colleges in my state such as CU , S. xaviers , etc but I chose this College as it has much nicer placements and better facilities of great facilities than other colleges. Yes, I got rejected from many college for my low scores in CUET . Admission process for admission in my college for my course is you can get admission easily in the merit of your class 12th boards exam result if you get more than 50% in physics, chemistry and biology together .

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ratio is around 1:60. Faculties are very much helpful and friendly in nature. They are very approachable. Some faculty member that I really like is Sarmishtha mam, rudranil sir, tania mam because they give proper notes which are easy to understand and also they teach really well. Some faculties that I don't like are Dola mam and harshita mam as they give a lot of notes seperately which is very confusing for us students. There are total of 4 exam in each year, 2 internals and 2 externals in each semester. The exams are moderate if you follow the class notes . There are approximately 4-5 students who fail the exam not more than that. The course curriculum is mostly related .

Night Life

4

Gym closes at 5pm , cafeteria closes at 5-6 pm , library closes at 6pm and during exam time closes at 8pm, public area closes at 4:30-5:30pm only. Hostellers cannot go out of campus after 4:30pm without pass . Famous hangout place in the college is cafe coffee day, canteen and atrium and outside the college is coffee house and tapri. The locality is safe to roam around at night .

Other Applied Colleges

Delhi University - [DU] | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Microbiology)

As biotechnology was a growing field and DU didn't had proper course of biotechnology and also amity was providing great career in biotechnology so it helped me to select this university over others .

Course Curriculum Overview:

I've always found economics to be really interesting and thats why I choose to persue it. I wanted to dive deep into the actual concepts and workings of the economy and understand how the world works from an economist's point of view. Sadly the curriculam doesnt bridge the gap between theory and real life. It focuses heavily on textbook and not how the world works.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course is good but you have to opt for masters and PhD to get a good placement. After bsc there's not any placement. The curriculum was basically practical and theoretical based. But I think it should be more practical so that we can get a job after doing bsc. The teaching method was good I didn't have any problem with that. As it was under Calcutta University so the exam questions were too difficult, sometimes it came out of our syllabus , i think they should change this a little bit .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus for BSc. Microbiology Hons. was in line with my interests. Few topics like virology, bacteriology, and diversity of the microbial workd are what drew my attention to pick this course. Although there are some portions which one would consider "boring", but I believe every subject has its interesting as well as boring portions. It's seems fair to judge a subject by seeing if the "boring" portions outweigh the "interesting" parts or not.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In terms of relevance and comprehensiveness of the course curriculum, my rating is solid 4.1 out of 5. Because it offers a variety of courses like compulsory english, environmental science, constitution values of India, Inter Disciplinary Courses where one can opt for a variety of subjects which change along with the course proceeds or semester changes. Not only that two major papers and one minor paper are present throughout the semester. As a student we should be well aware of our country and its law as well as how we can keep our environment healthy followed by sustainable development.
