Entrance Preview

Took GATE in 2003 and cleared it with 84 percentile. Took admission to ME Computer science at University Vishwesharayya College of Engineering (UVCE). UVCE has a reputation of producing excellent engineers.

Course Curriculum Overview

ME(CSE) curriculam mainly focused on advanced computer science subjects like pattern recognition, image processing, mobile computing, descrete mathematics, algorithms and analysis and a mini project in each semester and a compulsory seminar in each seminar.

Placement Experience

If you get an admission at UVCE, placement at good companies is assured as this college has a reputation of producing great engineers, by the end of 4th semester, companies will start flooding into college to recruit best talent for their companies. In terms of number of companies visiting, salary offered and offers made, UVCE is the best in Bengaluru.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being a govt college, the fee was very minimal. Its around 4000 per year. So Totally I had paid around 8000 for my complete post graduation course. Definitely the fee is not at all expensive. College also offers scholarship for buying books and pays stipend for post graduation students.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship to buy books and to prepare project reports. I had availed totally around 10000 during the complete course.Stipend of 5000 each month. This helped me to the great extent as I didnt have to depend on my parents.

Alumni/Alumna

UVCE has a strong alumini network across the globe. Being one of the very old engineering college in India, the alumini network has grown stronger and stronger in last 98 years.Alumini get together is organized every year across the globe.

Exam Structure

Exams and labs was not at all hectic. This helped us to learn subjects at our own pace. Most importantly we learnt how to learn. This is one great skills we learnt in this college. I am sure I could not have acquired this skill in any other college.

Faculty

UVCE has a excellent faculty with very high standard of education qualification. Most of the professors holds Phds from IISc and IITs. As this is a govt college, few of the professors are not serious about their job.

After joining the course with 3 months of starting of the course the placements will be startedforthe students to apply for the placements. Tier-1MNCs companies are visiting for the college which are proving high package . The highest package got is 94LPA and average package is 10LPA. 95% of students got the placements.

The courses they offer are not so relative to our stream. We also had questioned this to higher authorities. But they just say that the syllabus is fixed and they cant help . And if we need to pass we have to study those subjects.

Campus placement conditions have improved in IISc after the inception of campus placement cell. Average package is around I would say 25 lpa. I had applied to the UVCE for civil engineering branch first option and first round I got BIT college i don't have interest to go to that college because of high fees . So I waited for UVCE college because of its professors and it's name and famous earlier and it's a first engineering college in the Karnataka and it's 5th engineering college in the india because of its history i have choose this college . Students need to rank below 5000 in KCET exam to get ISE and CSE branch and 10000 for ECE and EEE branch and 20000 for Civil and Mech branch .
