Remarks

I don't have any bad remark about my college management but yes they should not stick this much to 75% attendance compulsion.

Entrance Preview

I took AIEEE. My Score was 184. I wanted to get in core branch plus past placement record of this institution was very good so I decided to get admission in this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

Very properly arranged for every semester and wisely distributed over all 8 semesters. And many different optional courses are also available for students.

I did my internship/training in VIZAG steel plant , Vishakhapattanam . It was very good experience for me.But I applied for it myself not through my college.

Placement Experience

Fees and Financial Aid

Education loan was there. And different kind of scholarship was also there for bright and poor students.

Campus Life

4.5

It is very good. Students from all parts of India are there. There are different cultural and technical societies which you can join as per your wish.

Hostel are very new and it will give you feel of some fort. Mess are running by students only so there is no doubt about quality of food.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni cell of NIT Silchar doing excellent job in bringing together all the previous pass out students together. It is also conducting alumni meet every year in the college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant and is different for different branches according to their needs. I was interested in civil engineering and chose the course and find the curriculum intersting and relevant for me . The curriculum offers subject which are important for real world applications, like in civil engineering it's offers subjects like building construction, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, material testing, serving, etc. The course curriculum is very good but the teaching methods needs improvement like more digitalization . The exams frequency and timings are neither too late nor too early, they are perfectly planned and executed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There exists a good teaching staff that's why the course is very easy to understand also teachers give us good examples also do practicals so that's students understand the course easily . I see that there exist a low no of equipments in practical lab compare to it's students ratio so if they have a good no of equipments then all students get equipment to do experiment without any waste of time . Time is good as compare to marks and the first 30 marks are beginner level the other 40 marks are intermediate level and the remaining 30 Marks are advanced level questions in a question paper for the students they published.

Placement Experience:

Placements start from 7th semester (4th Year). Companies like Amazon, Legato, TCS, Synopsis, etc. visit for on campus placements. We have a very good placement ratio and average package. For CSE, the average package was 13 LPA and 92% students were placed. While for ECE, the average package was 8 LPA and 66% students were placed. I'm planning on gaining work experience for 2 years after my B.Tech and then pursue MS Or M.Tech from abroad.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario is quite good, with several reputed companies like General Electric, Power Grid Corporation of India, Goldman Sachs, among others recruiting 94 percent of the students in the college. The placement takes place in three rounds, one testing one's aptitude, followed by an hour round, finally leading on to a technical round. Mock interview and job cracking sessions are organized regularly, both by the departments, and also the Training and Placement Cell, to prepare students for the interviews and examinations going forward. The Training and Placement Cell also provides internship opportunities at the end of third year for the students, based on their aptitude and abilities

Remarks:

I have mostly positive remarks about college except for the fact that the college is situated really far from mainstream north India. Train connectivity is not that strong to rest of country. But despite that the college is extremely good in the sense of learning, meeting new innovative minds, and of course placements and jobs.
