Remarks

The college has a spotless reputation, and I would like to confirm it by providing all my answers as stated above.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is just the basic layout for my respective course as just doing bachelor's in it will not be much helpful in securing placements. One has to go forward with post graduation in order to find a stable footing. The exam structure is the same as most University patterns, thus there is no problem with it. But the course for bachelors should be made more industry oriented with much more technical curriculum for future students who do not have masters or post graduation in mind.

Placement Experience

4.5

I did not apply for the placement cell, so I will not be able to tell you much about how the placement cell worked and what are the details.

College Events

4

One of the main events of our college is the Xavotsav, which is the College fest celebrated every year during January. This is when we have different types of competitions and concerts held and performed by eminent stars. This is the event of the year which is celebrated in our college. Other than that, we have fests and seminars for each particular department of a college, which is held throughout the year. Since the reputation of our college is quite big, the scale too tends to be higher and we tend to have many eminent personalities come and participate in our are events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure for my particular course, which is mass communication and videography, is a bit higher than the other respective courses and the quarterly fees tends to be around Rs19,000. The college does not take any additional fees are charges in order to secure an admission for the course. The college does provide full transparency in the free breakdown which provides us with detail of the course fees, the exam fees as well as the maintenance for the equipments used for our course.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have not opted for a scholarship ever, thus I will not be able to give any further details about how and through what procedures the scholarship program works.

Campus Life

4

Well, the gender ratio for the day as well as the evening batch holds to be around 45:55 for girls and boys, respectively. The morning batch is only for commerce students, who are all boys. The college has a lot of different factions, which show their fierce competition before the student governing council elections, though they do work really hard throughout the academic year. Though there is a diversity in the cultures and ethnicity of the students, we seem to lack such related societies. The tolerance among students is perfectly up to standard, regarding race, religion, sexual orientation as well as economic status of other students, but unfortunately the college staff sometimes seems to forget this and steps over these boundaries, making useless comments and jokes, which may be said to lighten the mood, but ends up hurting or insulting particular students' sentiments.

Alumni/Alumna

The Alumni of our prestigious college is established very well and senior as well as past students do their very best to come forward and help the college in whatever ways required, be it for financial help or academic, as well as for extra curricular activities.

Admission

I opted for this course because I wanted to venture out into the film making world. St. Xavier's College is known to be one of the country's best colleges and is known to be too notch in its faculty, also since it is a Cristian institute. One need to apply online during the registration period. After the registration, the college either takes out a merit list or holds entrance exams, based on the type of course one chooses. For normal courses, upto two merit list are put out, and for those who have given entrance exams, again two merit list based on the results of the entrance exams are released. After this, student need to come to the college on the day mentioned in order to complete their admission procedure.

Faculty

3.5

There are a total of 5 permanent professors for our course, along with 5 guest lecturers who tend to take classes when their respective fields are in syllabus. There is no such hierarchy in terms of qualifications or age since most of our faculty are highly qualified. They have a uniform system where the Head of the Department position is on a rotation every 3 or 4 year and every permanent professor get their chance at the position. They are highly qualified in their respective fields, but there seems to be many cases of biases, thus some students do feel left out.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was well-structured, and each semester, there were projects and presentations that also helped to test our knowledge. I got influenced as the curriculum provides us with financial economics, political economics, and Applied mathematics. The level of the exams was decent, related to the course. They could improve in teaching more practical knowledge and projects related to that, instead of only learning in a theoretical way.

Placements and job oppurtinities are less since this is an undergraduate college offwering honours degree. Though there is a placement and career councelling cell that looks over this matter. Placements are offered only in a few subjects, such as industrial chemisrty and computer science. The rate of placements are very high and come with high packages. Though I am not interested in placements, but I have started taking preparations for compititive exams. Such preparations are very supported here, rather than jobs and placements.
