Remarks

Sivanath Sastri College is one of the best commerce college for girls in Kolkata. It is best known for it's commerce faculty. I chose b.com honours because i love accounts and wanted to pursue a career in commerce

Course Curriculum Overview

The teachers are excellent and they are professional. Some teachers like Debanjan Laha Sir is very student friendly and he id almost like a mentor to us. Our teachers are up to date with the course curriculum and they make sure we are also updated with our syllabus

Placement Experience

2.5

We do not have a placement cell in college so the college is trying to cope with with shortcoming by providing us with various seminars and webnars. We also have career counselling sessions to overcome this scenario.

College Events

The Infrastructure of our college is not that good unfortunately. Sivanath Sastri College has its own non political student union which organises fests and other events such as founder's Day Rangmanch Utkarsh and fresher's.

SXC means love with hardship!

Placement Experience:

Placements wise there's no partiality as both the colleges have combined placements round. Around 400+ B.Com students sit together for placements and around 250 of them were placed in 2024-2025 batch.

SXC is super special!

Placement Experience:

EY, PWC, Unacademy, and Deloitte are some of the big names which came last year and has been coming since long. SXC is renowned and placements are great as even B.Com (Hons) have students who have bagged packages worth 20 lakhs or so.

Placement Experience:

There is a placement cell club which functions in the college itself which is efficient in providing over 67 to 98% of students with placements. This percentage can vary for different years and different courses. The college has been successful in attracting top recruiters like deloitte, wipro, TCS, and leader companies from various other sectors. Packages vary significantly from 4 to 6 LPA up to 24LPA. After getting my degree i am planning to first make sure that i have completed my CA course that i am pursuing alongside. And then going ahead with either a job outside kolkata or open a business in kolkata itself.

Having fun at St. Xavier's

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum aligns well with the professional courses like CA and CMA. it has a lot of classes like value added course, modern indian language etc. which help us grow overall. The seminars are very helpful. We submit presentations on rela world topics which prepare us beyond the clasroom. It could be improved to reduce the excess theory portions. The frequency and timing is wonderful.

Beyond Books : Life at St. Xaviers

Placement Experience:

The students from their 3rd year become eligible for campus placement. Different companies including the Big 4 like Deloitte KPMG etc made offers in 2024-25 and the average package offered in BCOM was 4.5 LPA. I plan on sitting for the placements after i get my degree, that is if im not pursuing my articleship at the time.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I always want to build my career in commerce and my aim is to be a chartered accountant. So I took this course because the syllabus of CA and B.com is the same. our college faculties are so helpful. They always come forward to resolve our academic and nonacademic doubts. Their teaching methods are also good. we don't need to purchase any book, their notes are enough for our syllabus.

Moderate College Life.

After HS I applied many colleges but I didn't got chance at the top notch colleges as they damand more marks than I got. After trying so many colleges I finally got admitted to this college.
