Remarks

It's an autonomous College.So it has got rules of itself.the infrastructure is excellent.one will get every important thing here, starting from WiFi to huge Playground and Gym.Moreover there are associations dealing with singing dancing theatre and others. The educational standard is also good. And moreover it is one of the top most ranked colleges in India.so there's nothing to be said more.

Course Curriculum Overview

It's good.teachers are helpful.they try to solve the problems of the students.the curriculum is set by the UGC.and the course which I follow.to be honest is quite hectic.means it's a vast syllabus .and there are frequent examinations which help the students decide their condition.Checking is also not very easy.but the faculty is good. renowned teachers are present in the department.

Placement Experience

There is a different placement cell which is quite efficient.it brings good companies actually in the Media and Mass Communication department.Other departments do have councelling.but most avail masters or govt. Jobs.so that's the story.

College Events

Well I'm still pursuing the course.but till this much.I've enjoyed it.there are departmental fests.the famous Xavotsav, which is famous through out India.and there are other sports facilities.we have national teams in various sports.And the college is quite good in this field.all around.its a good atmosphere.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum in this college is uoto date, very relevant and with at par with the real world scenario, we learn about disorders, different schools of psychology and a lot more. There is a perfect balance of practical and theory, which is needed in psychology. In terms of improvement, there is always room for it, as of now there arent any suggestions from my side. The frequency of exams are fine, they give us time to prepare however I feel like as, according to the NEP, the semesters should be 6 months long but here they are cutting it short.

Students get placement offers in the first year of M.Stat. In general, however, most students prefer to go abroad for higher studies. Students who sit for placements mostly get placed in Finance and Analytics companies, typically in Business Analyst, Risk Analyst and other roles. ISI has a 100% placement record for B.Stat- M.Stat students. Companies like Goldman Sachs, McKinsey & Co., JP Morgan & Chase, Amazon, etc. come for placements. SXC Kolkata is a gem of a college.

I thought of pursuing engineering and therefore have WBUJEE and JEE both. Admission i tried at almost all the colleges of Kolkata. Goenka was also in my mind as there the classes are in the morning and even St Xavier's Private University as well. SXC is an old pedigree!

There are no entrances like the Delhi University which I gave as well. Here admission are based on 12th percentage and the subjects that we have had. So, for general category in 2025 admission 92.7% from any board was the cut-off. For OBC it was 81 and for SC/ST students it was 73%....Read More
