Remarks

It was my dream college and I'm very happy to be a part of it. A good college life, study, friends, senior. It's just like a family. I am proud to be part of this glorious oldest medical college in Asia.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

To be a doctor you must be studious as well as meritorious. So you have to study hard for the exams both for theory and practicals. It is course of 4.5 years plus 1 year internship. There will be one exam per semester and at the end of the year there will be a professional MBBS examination. The 2nd professional MBBS duration is 1.5 years. All the other 3 professional MBBS exams( 1st,3rd part 1 and 3rd part2) are of 1 year. After passing 3rd professional MBBS part 2( commonly known as final MBBS) you have to do 1 year internship in your own college following which you will get your registration no.

Placement Experience

5

There is nothing called placements in any Medical colleges but after becoming a doctor you won't have to worry about your bread and butter.Because the doctor patient ratio is very poor in India. So there are enough Job opportunities. And as I mentioned earlier at the end of the course you have to do internship for 1 year, stipend is about 23 thousands monthly.

College Events

4

We had a annual festival RAPSODY organised by the students of 2nd professional MBBS.This is one of biggest college fest im Kolkata.Other than that many other cultural competition and sports, Cine fest are also organised here.

Fee Structure And Facilities

This is a government college so fee is very much feasible. At the time of admission you have to pay 1000/- as admission fee,1000/- as casualty fee and 4500/- for the current semester. Then 4500/- for each semester and 2000/- for final examination each year.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college offers 25000/- scholarship to 1 student each year.Other than that you can apply for govt scholarship swami Vivekananda merit cum means scholarship 60000/- per year. For which you have to submit Income certificate, mark sheets and domicile.

Campus Life

4.5

In our college other than studies annual festival RAPSODY, cine fest, arthralgia, sports etc are organised.Laboratory facilities are satisfactory.A little bit politics is here but not influenced by political party outside college. We live, study here with peace and harmony irrespective of gender, caste, race or economic status.

Hostel Facilities

5

Yes I stay in a hostel. The hostel facility is quite sufficient.4 students per room.We have table, chair, bed, light, fan for each student. In our hostel we also have game room, visiting room, library, canteen.

Alumni/Alumna

We have great communication with our alumni association.Seniors are very helpful. They are guide in our studies as well as in college life. There is nothing called ragging in our college.we share room with seniors too.

Admission

First of all if you are an medical aspirant then Medical college Kolkata is one of the best medical colleges in India and arguably the best medical college in west bengal and the oldest medical college in Asia.If your dream is to be a doctor then you must do an MBBS degree. After qualifying NEET you have to go through counselling process and if you are eligible for this college you will get a chance.

Faculty

4.5

Just like in any colleges faculty may vary. But overall faculty is very good and they are keen to help us out in any situation. They are very much qualified as you have to qualified enough to be a professor in Medical college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is completely based on NMC new guidelines. Along with the theory classes where we know the structure and their working in dissection we actually see them on cadaver . Lectures should be more interesting as it's get boring to literally listen the concepts for first time like a story and at the end we forget everything

Course Curriculum Overview:

Medical field is a really good field in my opinion to serve humankind and learn about science of nature and life!the curriculum is a little overpaced and there are 19 subjects which are taught in a timespan of 4.5 years which is a bit hectic! There are 4 professional exams and 9 semesters which have pretty good difficulty and assess our skills and education. We have regular examinations in around 4-5 months each. Only thing id like to change in the curriculum is better assessment of many topics which are taught pretty well but aren't examined much leading us to waste our time in focussing on them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well, mbbs is very hard and long term process. You will be bored in 1st year because you cant get real clinical cases. But in Final year, 3rd Prof Part 2, you will get huge pressure. Because there are total 11 subjects, you should study in final year. It is a great burden for all. I'm not satisfied with Nmc curriculum. They are not thinking about students. They are implement their rules in chilled ac room. But they don't know the real scenarios.
