Remarks

College is overall superb. It's worth spending two years for post graduate program. The crowd is exceptionally good, with people coming from several renowned undergraduate programs across the country such as St. Stephens, SRCC, IITs.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum is very rigorous as you have to follow the enormous syllabus regularly with the classes. The in-house exams are conducted from time to time for partial syllabus and the end semester exams are held for the complete syllabus.

Placement Experience

5

Placements are too good as we have about 40-50 companies visiting the campus each year for final placements as well as for summer internships. Some of the companies that came last year were JP Morgan, UBS, RBS, Credit Suisse,, American Express, MasterCard, Experian, Deloitte, Bajaj Finserv, Nomura and many more. Stipend ranged around 50k to 1.2 lakhs per month and the final placements paid between 10 and 31 Lakhs per Annum.

College Events

2.5

Ahaan is the annual cultural fest. Winter School is the research paper competition. Additionally there are seminars and talks from eminent personalities. We have regular seminars on economy related issues

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is very feasible. It's around 8k per annum. The tuition fee is 218 rupees per year and other charges include that of library, computer lab, student development fund and some other auxiliary charges. All the inclusions are provided at very nominal price.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is an EXIM bank scholarship whereby students are given 5k per month based on their academic performance. Dr. Manmohan Singh fellowship pays 10k per month to academic achievers. Additionally, several scholarships for people from financially weak background are also given.

Campus Life

4

There isn't much ECA in college. Gender ratio is good with number of girls greater than boys. Societies are absent for extracurricular activities. Student diversity is good with people from from across the indian states and even across the borders. There is no discrimination done on any basis be it gender, caste, religion or financial. People mostly come from middle class families.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni are really helpful. We got to meet several alumni working in corporate when they came to college for placement intervews. They are really helpful. We can easily locate them on linkedin. The quality of alumni is superb with people working at several reputed places.

Admission

There is an entrance exam consisting of 50 MCQ questions related to Economics which have to be answered within 2 hours. Upon the exam, a merit list is released and the top 59 candidates get the offer in the unreserved category, with reservations as per the existing policies.

Faculty

5

Faculty is extremely good and is amongst the best in the country for economics. Renowned economists such as Dr. Manmohan Singh and Dr. Amartya Sen are the visiting faculty members of the college. Additionally, the staff is quite huge with specialized teachers for a large number of optional subjects which can be chosen as per the interest in addition to some compulsory subjects.

Continuous and comprehensive evaluation or CCE is a well-structured formula and anyone in the system can learn from it and get the benefits from it as well. The termwise assessments are the proofs that one can derive inspiration from it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have did my BA in the same course that's why I opted for this again in my MA. The curriculam was quiet good according to the previous syllabus. Whatever I have read in my bachelors, I got to know it deeper in my Masters. The timings of the exams were okay according to the syllabus. Also there was no difficulty level if you have read the syllabus properly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since I had done my bachelors in Sociology (H), I found it fit to pursue public administration and due to my other prior engagements I opted for the ODL programme hence IGNOU. The course can be very lengthy and tiring and above all you have to figure it all out on you own and so it can get a bit confusing too sometimes. The exams and assignment submissions happen only once a year.

Delhi University - [DU], Master of Arts [MA] (East Asian Studies)
Reviewed on Jan 17, 2024(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course considering my interest in East Asian culture and Languages. The Faculty: Student ratio is 1:40 and most of the professors are Ph.D scholars. The teaching method comprises reading books and learning after it which stipulates the form of an ancient education system like any other mediocre Indian University. "An important factor to consider is that faculty sometimes fell short due to a shortage of subject masters(or should I say language) For example, Chinese faculty is much in number and experience than Korean and Japanese while the latter suffer the incompetency of the number of faculty. Term exams happened to be very fast but it was due to the internal issues that remain consistent in DU and except that there would be tons of Internal Assessments that play a major role in one's SGPA. Exam level - Hard!
