Remarks
College of vocational studies is a very great college of the University of Delhi but it is still underrated. The vocational courses offered are excellent and something exceptional from mainstream courses but they still have to find the battle to get in the limelight.
Course Curriculum Overview
BA.(voc) Human Resource management is a very unique course and is designed completely according to the need of the industry. All the aspects of human resources from basics like recruitment to advance like HRIS are covered in this. Exams are held twice in a year with regular internals and class tests. The curriculum is also revised with suggestions of professors and it is indeed helpful to secure placements.
Placement Experience
College placements are handled by the placement cell which is run by the students only. It is not very proficient because it lags faculty support however some good companies like EY, Wipro do visit the college to provide placement. Internships are also offered by the placement cell but college gives NOC to do internships only in breaks. More teachers are coming forward to improve and help placement cell in its working.
College Events
The biggest celebration is the annual fest 'TATVA' which is usually held in February last week. It is a three-day-long fest that witnesses a footfall of around 10k people. It has various competitions and performances from stats and band. Other than this all the societies have their 2 fests and various small seminars around the year
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is divided into two parts- annual fees and examination fees. The annual fee ranges from 8-10k whereas the examination fee is around 1k. The fees are affordable as it comes under Delhi University guidelines. Fees can be paid through Paytm but the procedure is quite cumbersome and lengthy due to the lethargic government admin staff. No details are given about fee breakdown and no further costs are incurred during taking admissions.
Fees and Financial Aid
CVS doesn't offer any scholarships as the fees are already very affordable due to being a Delhi University College however it follows all reservations and also has special classes for noncollegiate students.
Campus Life
College of vocational studies has good and equivalent gender ratio, not too god infrastructure facilities and labs. The ground is quite big but the basketball court has been removed to make an additional building. Sports facilities are also limited however it provides exceptional scope for extracurricular development. It has various cultural and academic societies like debating, photography, finance and investment cell etc. All the societies do various workshops and seminars throughout the year. Cvs is known for its extra curricular opportunities.
Alumni/Alumna
All the seniors are extremely helpful in all ways. My seniors helped me throughout my admission process, they also help in finding pg/flat for outstation students. There are friendly relations between seniors and juniors and no ragging or anything insulting.
Admission
After my 12 board exams, I was very confused as to what to do further and proceed in which career path. I gave various entrance exams related to all fields and universities and even took coaching classes for them. I excelled in almost all exams and had made my mind to do BBA from Vivekananda institute of professional studies but came to know about this course BA.(VOC) HRM was offered in CVS through a friend. The uniqueness and specialty in Hr got my interest instantly and I withdrew my admission form VIPS and joined CVS, DU.
Faculty
There are two types of faculty- permanent and adhoc. The permanent professors are old and lethargic as well as teach with boring methods but the ad-hoc staff is young and hardworking and makes things easy. Both the faculty are highly educated but they lack willingness and effort to teach nicely. There are 4-5 lectures per day and faculty also help in finding books and notes.
