Course Curriculum Overview

5

The courses are very nicely designed to give you a broad experience of various research fields so that you can easily decide on one and work in that. First two years you have to suggest all the subjects including Bio Physics Math and Chemistry. Then from third year onwards you decide on one Major subject in which you do your Masters. The exams are almost every month during each semester with two mid- semester exams and one end-semester exam.

Placement Experience

4

Yes. If you want to pursue a career in science then this is a dream college for any aspirant. There are a lot of internships that are promoted here in the college and outside as well. You have to apply through a program and the funding is by DST or the lab where you apply to.

College Events

5

Insomnia is our cultural fest, Onam is celebrated every year and then there is Science Day and Foundation Day. There are other festivals also which are celebrated like Durga Pujo and Ganesh Chaturthi, Vasant Panchami etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible but I guess since the recent hikes, the fees have increased for the upcoming batches and there is a possibility that one may get a scholarship then it is not a problem.

Fees and Financial Aid

Top 1% students in Board exams get INSPIRE scholarship of 80K per annum and there is a provision of KVPY scholarship for KVPY scholars.

Campus Life

5

Labs are one of the best scientific labs in the country and an excellent infrastructure. The sports facilities are also pretty amazing with various sports like cricket ground, football ground and basketball and badminton courts etc.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel facilities are amazing with one of the best rooms in the country. Messes have good food. There are TV rooms and canteens everywhere. No problem there.

Admission

I gave an entrance test for IISERs called SCB channel. The merit in that test decides which IISER will you get. You can also get an admission through KVPY in which you must have a pretty decent rank and third method is through JEE Advanced in which you need a rank within 10K to apply and then the merit list is prepared.

Faculty

5

The faculty of the college is highly experienced and trained in research in there subject areas. Therefore the courses that they take is also in their interests which they teach really well. The labs are amazing and highly equipped with latest state of the art machinery.

Placement Experience:

On a serious note, if you choose this course, you cannot expect employment opportunities after graduation. You have to do a master's and then you can think of a lectureship or a laboratory assistant. For higher studies, you can pursue a PhD and go in the research field. But the course is not as easy as it seems, the path is very struggling and often you face failure. After the recent NMC update, the non-medical teaching staffs are limited which makes the pursuing of this course very questionable. but there are alternative course and job opportunities after graduation in other life sciences subjects. Rest, the college doesn't provide any internship in this course. You are entirely on your own risk and decisions when you enrol for this course.

There is gender discrimination, restrictions based on gender and most important dressing of girls and thinking of management is narrow minded. Good thing is campus life is very good. Campus is fun based and great enjoyment and building is like a palace.
