Remarks

There is gender discrimination, restrictions based on gender and most important dressing of girls and thinking of management is narrow minded. Good thing is campus life is very good. Campus is fun based and great enjoyment and building is like a palace.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course curriculum and exam structure is relevant, in some subjects it is based on research while in some subjects it is theory based. This course curriculum is completely helpful in the jobs in quality labs of different industries. In professional life when you work in the food plants there is very helpful. In the course processing of fruits and vegetables and of different food items is taught and their handling right from harvesting till consumption and also there quality testing. Students are somehow groomed for campus placements but there are less campus placements also somehow college lacks in grooming students for placements. There are different industrial visits like visit to Cocacola plant and Pepsi plant and there is internship for one month in food plant.

Placement Experience

2.5

No company visited the college for placement for this course. Few steps are taken by college to prepare students for placements.

College Events

4

Events celebrated in college are Raunak, Youth festival, Tech fest, Flower show, Debates, Speech competition, Song competition, Drawing, Quiz competition, Arambhik ardaas and also some religious programs and many students take part in them. Almost 10 to 12% students show interest in them.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is feasible. The program fee is 60000 per year and college fees could be paid cash, by cheque, demand draft. There is security fee, registration fee. There is transparency in the fee breakdown. But college increases fee every year but do not provide a reason for it.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes college offers scholarship based on participation in cultural activities, sports and based on academic positions and special scholarship tests. The amount of the scholarship is completely based on position as these start from the amount of 200 to complete fee waiver.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is great. Gender ratio is almost 1:1. There are private fresher and farewell party but not official ones and there is hostel night every year, workshops takes place time to time based on curriculum and different current topics. There are different cultural and literary societies active throughout tje the year. No political societies are active in college as college do not allow students to speak and voice can't be raised against management and officials.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostels rooms are available single seater, in sharing of two, three or four. There are total 600 seats in hostel. Hostels room are not so hygienic and don't get too much facility. There are no rooms with coolers or a. c. Cooler can be used by own by paying 2500 extra. P. G. general rent is 2500-3000 per bed with a. c. it is 3500-4000. with attach washroom and kitchen facility and are well equipped and have high quality standards as compared to hostels.

Alumni/Alumna

No, alumni comes on alumni meet but no interaction with students. This is not helpful. Till now it has not helped me at any point.

Admission

First of all college releases a prospectus in the month of May and announce the registration dates for the entrance exam and date of entrance exam which is generally in the month of June and result in the end of June and counselling takes place in the Starting of July or end of the June. The major reason for choosing this college is it's a autonomous college secondly it is the only college in Punjab which have honours bachelor course in Food science and technology with four year plan.

Faculty

3

There are around 60 lectures per subject each semester with 5 subjects each semester. Almost teachers have done P. Hd. while some have ongoing P. Hd. and few have done masters in the field. Mostly teachers of age 25-30 with some teachers having age of 50-55. Some teachers have expertise in their field also with their industry experience or research lab experience while some don't have expertise and lack knowledge. Expertise teachers clear doubts of students well while others lack in this.

Placement Experience:

On a serious note, if you choose this course, you cannot expect employment opportunities after graduation. You have to do a master's and then you can think of a lectureship or a laboratory assistant. For higher studies, you can pursue a PhD and go in the research field. But the course is not as easy as it seems, the path is very struggling and often you face failure. After the recent NMC update, the non-medical teaching staffs are limited which makes the pursuing of this course very questionable. but there are alternative course and job opportunities after graduation in other life sciences subjects. Rest, the college doesn't provide any internship in this course. You are entirely on your own risk and decisions when you enrol for this course.
